Not too surprised at the team... if anything I thought he might try to ease KK in off the bench to take off some "pressure" in the lead up.

And actually, I think that's the best team that can be selected. There's no-one knocking on the door to calim a spot, and I'm yet to be convinced that any backline positional changes involving Hayne will achieve anything other than potentially devalue Hayne's future worth to the side and the club (if he is tried and also fails at fullback this season). Eric might be close to a recall, Williams has the same weakness Eric showed (slow reads and turn and chase when short kicked through).

We all just want to see some changes, because we are fed up with what we see as substandard efforts from (almost) all players, when we know those players are capable of so much better. I guess we should be glad that someone believes in them (their coach, Hagan), but geeeeeeez they all need to step up, and step up soon to retain the faith shown by the supporters and fans.

I think all it would take is 1 player to be dropped. that would send a message to the others that they need to perform

thats one of the main problems that Hagan has created for himself. no matter what, the players know that they are very unlikely to be dropped the following week. players in lower grades know they have very limited opportunities to impress, despite their form and this lack of contention for places in the team has made those in 1st grade complacent, and the juniors off contract disillusioned.

I'm sorry but what has Hayne done to deserve anything ?

He's only played about 2 games for Parra in the last 8 weeks through suspension and Origin has he not ?
I know that earlier on in the season he was our best back , so why not give him a go at fullback ? Try something new ?

Parra Pete,
do you even get disappointed with our performances? I think you are one of these blokes like Parra Jesus who just likes to have a beer at the game and would like to see Stu Galbraith as our leader - but otherwise does not like to have an opinion.
I am O.K with these types of fans, I've just never understood why you visit forums.

My first Parramatta game was in 1958, but I didn't really get 'into it' until 1960 when Ron Boden came on board as Captain/coach signed by Jack Argent who got fined 50 pound for signing him when on duty as the Team Manager.
I have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord (aka Ken Thornett)'..was there at all Grand Final wins, saw the Grandstand burn down at Cumberland, saw the opening game at Cumberland Stadium (aka Parra Stadium); was at the official opening of Croninsville.
Went to the farewell dinner at the Leagues Club for Price and Cronin.
I've been there for the good times. Been there for the bad times.
Don't question my loyalty to - or love of - the Parramatta District Rugby League Football Club.
It has been my life for almost 50 years.
I've done the yards...and I'm still solid. I have learned to expect nothing from Rugby League..that way you will never be disappointed.
Things can change a the drop of a hat. Teams can put together a winning streak (a la` St George and Souths in this competition)..
Stay aboard. Hang on it may get rocky, but things have a habit of coming back and biting you on the arse.
Push a bit of blame onto the overpaid tattooed boofheads on the paddock and not towards the coach and administrators who aren't missing tackles, or dropping the ball.....

2 things

1) Hayne wasn't the best back, Hayne hasn't played a good game for Parra all year
2) It was Hayne's own dumb fault that he got suspended so that should if anything make him closer to being dropped then used as an excuse to give him another chance.

This is probably the biggest problem of the season - without Mateo we lose another player who can make metres. Leaves us basically with Moimoi, Hindmarsh and Cayless back.

I know that we haven't had stars in the backline in Burt etc but when the forward pack have actually gone forward then the backs can actually make some sort of impact.

Personally - Wagon, Hauraki, Riddell, Cordoba and Oake need to be given a wake up amongst others and their places taken by Galuvao, Wright, Latimore and Robinson (Tim) or Baumann.

Once the forward pack is sorted you can work on the backline.

I agree I wouldn't even look at the backs until you fix the forwards first. And by that I mean leave KK at 5/8th and Feleti at lock for a start. Then blood the players that you mention and see how they handle it.

This year is a bust so start working on the future. We don't seem to have any money to make any outside purchases:crazy: so we should be looking at trying to get the right juniors in first grade at least not wasting our time with proven failures.

I agree Fish Eel, I think TT is worth a crack in the centre. He looks lost on the wing as far as defending kicks, but his workrate and strong running are excellent. Swapping him and Reddy.

I would have gone with

1. Hayne
2. Reddy
3. Inu
4. TT
5. Burt/Guru
6. KK
7. Finch
13. Robbo
12. Piggy
11. Hindy (C)
10. Latimore
9. Matty K
8. Cayless

14. T-Rex/Joe G
15. Wright
16. Cordoba
17. Moi Moi

Dropping: Wags, Oake, Weller, possibly Burt.

This moves Piggy to second row where he can also cover some time at hooker. You've got more punch up front and off your bench.

With the exception of Burt/Grothe on the wing, I must sat that that does look like a much better team especially in regards to gaining meters. Can we bring back David Williams from the scum to fill that wing?

You guys really think that Piggy could manage say 17 hitups and 28 tackles in a match ? He'd blow up and be a liability out there. Sorry but he just doesn't have the aerobic fitness to handle that kind of footy. Looking at him lately he's like Fui was a few years ago.

As the Title asks "Where in trouble"...surely it was meant to be a tongue in cheek "We are in trouble"

Where? I ask are we in trouble. Burt is the leading point scorer in the competition. People want to CRUCIFY him..
Eric Grothe J was the most crucified player in the Club..Now people want to Roll back the stone RESURRECT HIM.
Will Kris Keating get the job done? The cry has been out for him to be picked. Now he has ..will it be a godsend?
The cries of sign Jarryd and Krisnan early in the year filled pages and pages of forum posts. They were. Now people want Hayne dropped and replaced with EGJ.
Weller, Oake and Cordoba were once the darlings of the forum. In the space of just a couple of games they have lost their glow...
It's got me f**ked. Talk about a bunch of fickle fans with hearts of frog sh*t. Funny thing is the team is not that far off the pace, competition points wise..

Ok Hages.

Agreed. Soft pack. Can't even tackle right, which si theoretically what they excel at.

I agree with everything said. Well said, Pete.

And you know the darnedest thing? If I wasn't working this weekend, I'd still go to the game and yell myself hoarse trying to encourage the boys. It's just what fans do.

.... Are you even an Eels fan? Without Hayne and Inu last year we wouldn't have gone nearly as good. Hopefully they both come good this year. Remember, Inu was injured up until 6 rounds ago... he should be hitting his straps soon. Hayne just needs to be put in the right position.
