Snowden and the Sims boys aren't big units??? :? Tapine is a big young thing and Falago and Stockwell aren't small. it's a lot bigger bench than ours.

Really?

Tapine 96kg
Fa'ologo 102kg
Stockwell 106kg
are the biggest blokes on their bench

We have:

Wicks 110
Terepo 106
Fa'oso 108
Sepha 106
3 of those will play.

Sef is 106kgs and runs like a bloke who weighs less than Jimmy Cassidy. I don't even class our super duper link man as a forward. It's a two man forward bench as far as i'm concerned. And having two hookers in the side when you have an 80min one makes no sense at all, it's not like Peats is at least getting a 20min breather he is playing as a second rower which is really quite baffling when we are leaving out blokes like Tep and Pauli.

He played fullback early in 2011. He 'starred' as a centre and winger.

In the first ten rounds he played fullback six times, wing twice and centre twice: http://www.rugbyleagueproject.org/matches/Custom/MTQtODE5LS0tLS0tLTE0OTk4LS0tLS0tLS0tLS0t

He did indeed star at centre but he also starred at fullback, with a couple of man-of-the-match performances. He was also equal sixth for LBAs in that time: http://forums.leagueunlimited.com/showpost.php?p=7413466&postcount=53

But don't take my word for it, here's some better judges than you talking about him: http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/n...ooty-says-hasler/story-e6frfgbo-1226043755935

And it is highly possible to lose ability when you go bike riding preaching the book of mormon for 2 years

No, that's just a matter of losing conditioning.

I agree. I didn't say he was good:)

Just it's not a pure size issue...it's a curious blend of playing styles for a 4 man bench.

Grahah Eadie reckons he will be as good a fullback as Slater and Hayne....Ridiculous...I'm not sure how good a judge he is.

Amazing how he quoted and took the article as gospel and didn't use his brain....

IDG is getting rewarded for loyalty for having stepped in mid last year when Peats was finished. Bit hard to piss someone away when they helped out in a crisis. I realise it benefitted IDG to come on over both financially and gametime-wise but I think BA may think he still owes him.
Like everyone else, I can't understand the perseverance with Sef though

I agree having a hooker on the bench seems like a waste of a bench spot and I said in the pre-season that I didn't think Arthur would do it.

Obviously he did do it, and to be fair, it worked in two games this year (though Manly has turned out to be the worst team in the comp early on) and it worked for stretches of other games - we have led at the fiftieth minute in every game but one this year. So are we getting run down because we're too small or because of something else? It could be because we lack experience or toughness or skill or speed - those are all things that De Gois offers over many of our bigger and younger players.

Anyway you have to look at it from Arthur's point of view - we have a structure that he analysed would work for us this year, and he built a squad that would suit that, and has already started recruiting to improve it next year. We would have trained in this structure all pre-season. It has been proven that it can work, and has done already this year. For Arthur to drop his bundle now would be the worst thing for the playing group. It would absolve the players who haven't aimed up, and would make the coach look weak, which would kill their confidence in him. As soon as you start trying to please everyone you stop being a leader and instead become a politician.

Except for Edwards, Champion, Semi (probably), and Jnr. Four starters out of 13, and that's assuming that Taka is playing. Doesn't mean we should 'blame' injuries / suspensions, coz they are always going to happen.

So if champions fit you drop taka or Hoppa mate?
If kennys fit does he take tepai or Pauli's spot in wenty?

Jnr and Semi are losses.A wing and a bench prop. If you think that would improve us that much your mad.
Every team has 1-2 injuries min. Most have 3-4 at a time. We are lucky that our spine has been fit every game IMO.

You're the one who believes everything they read in the papers. That's why I quoted it for you.

As for me, I think Hopoate has been okay at fullback but we all know he's better at centre and Sandow is killing our right side defence, and I could see Sims and Leilua reading us our rights this week.

Plus in the past we've seen Robinson show some awesome attacking form at fullback. And he's not the kind of winger you want in wet weather.

If Champion was fit I'd certainly consider playing him and Taka at centre and Hoppa on a wing. Taka can also play back row if we were short there.

I'd be playing Edwards at starting 2nd row in today's team, with Gower on bench.

Agree re spine.

hoppa is the best centre we have at the club - if he's not playing fullback then he plays centre for sure

he is an absolute gun and getting his winger across the line

Do you know why we are leaving Tep out?

Eels to lead at half time and lose, paying $8.30 on marathonbet. Get on it.
