despite all the absences still a quality side - at full strength they're a very good unit, much better than us tbh... even this side just has a good look about it

Sharp starting line up for Penrith.

Their bench without a Mose Masoe has nothing to swing the momentum their way......bit like ours.

Moseley is the only potential weapon on our bench. It will be interesting to see how Ivan uses him. It's about as good a side as we can manage. Pretty good really all things considered. Chad not playing is good news for us, he has shown plenty in the games I have seen this year. Strange omission.

I'm prepared to go with McFadden and his call on Leuleuai over Chad. There is obviously a reason behind it and I'm prepared to believe he knows what he is doing.

If we can shut down Seg we will go a long way toward winning this game, can see Manu and Mansour cancelling each other out with their hit ups.

Soward vs Johnson will be interesting and key.

I will be interested to see if the Warriors use their un rivaled inside knowledge of Ivans 2nd man plays and 50/50 attacking kicks at the end of sets to their advantage.

I'm picking most of your sets will look like this :

Big Winger takes Kick return hit up. Another back scoots out of dummy half and pinches more meters. The Third tackle could be a repeat of those dummy half runs or.....the ball is shifted two passes wide of the ruck for one of your 2nd rowers to pressure the Warriors center / Wing combinations.

Ivan will end sets by Kicking in behind Manu specifically or putting it to the Air at the same player.

A lot of dummy half running....a lot of 2nd man plays.....an attacking kick on the end of it.

Can't wait to see more of that, nostalgia and all.

Not too far off but Ivan has definitely added some quality variations to the ends of sets. We'd run it on the last more than most teams and the key weapon will be Segeyaro jumping out of dummy half and acting as halfback, allowing Soward more room to hold the play up until defence is committed. Then he has short ball to one of two second rower decoys or Moylan sweeping around creating an overlap or just a good old fashioned 30m cut out pass to the winger who then has a cup of tea before strolling over in the corner.

Pretty sure it's 8.30? Local time kickoff is 6.30pm. Seeing as they play 7.30pm games here sometimes (and later), it really shouldn't be a problem or excuse of any sort. More a hassle for the fans having to get up early for work the next day, eh? ;)

yea, would make the 4am start even more unsociable.. :(

I'm thinking the 8-30 is the start of coverage and kickoff is 9 pm...

Sorry to ruin your little tea party here but it wont matter when the broncos beat the storm on fri night.
Happy to wish bladder incontinence on your parade ( El Packer...the next big Bronco signing )

It matters not what happens between ur lot and the Storm.

When we win the loser of your contest is gooorne.

Not the other way around.

Have a re look at the table. O-Or

Fox are pretty good at keeping the KO as close to the advertised time. It's those merkins at 9 that don't know how to read a clock

The times on NRL.com are the kick off times, usually about 5 minutes later. Channel 9 games can be pushed out a little. Likely the buildup will start 8pm kiwi time and kick off at 8.35pm.

Pretty big game for the juniors in this one as well, will have to get there early for that one as well. I'm sure most people who are going have seen it already, but there are $20 grandstand tickets for Warriors members (or anyone who enters the below I guess).

Just use promo code warriors. Not a bad deal, seeing as it might be raining...will be a good atmosphere there if the game goes the right way.

Are you aware that there are two Rugby codes played in this country ?

Twenty eight thousand men and women play Rugby union by comparison to Australias registered Adult Rugby league playing pool of Fifty eight Thousand Adult players. NZ Dominate that code with a small percentage of the playing pool Aussie relies on to dominate the League code. More countries play competitive Union than league.

It gets worse.

How many Kiwi Registered league players do you think were eligeable to beat the Kangaroos in the World cup and four nations ?

How many do you think even play the game here including kids ? 24 thousand. versus your close to half a million current and future players.

Three and a half thousand registered Adults play Rugby League in NZ.

One in four of the registered players in the NRL are of Kiwi heritage.

Ouch.
