Also, this is why we need a player like Kahu if we can get him...because this week we are playing Maumolo and wishing we selected Wright

I disagree about Maumalo, he has been outstanding for a while in reserve grade, several NRL teams wanted to sign him and he just needs a few games in first grade to find his feet. He is worth the investment. I am very happy as he will only truly improve now in first grade.

Did you watch him in reserves last week?

Wright is an inch shorter and, I think, better under the high ball

He has no clue. I wouldn't say we've been hit by a raft of injuries, like the Panthers were last year. I don't think we'll get to 32 unless Hingano and probably Wells gets a run.

I worded that weirdly - so long as Maumalo takes the field we'll be at 32.. the question then is will we beat it? I think it's likely (Hingano, Ali, Wells the potentials).

And yeah, we haven't had a great run - but nowhere near the Panthers run (and only 14 games in, compared to 24 for that Panthers squad). The stupid six being dropped may have had an impact, except looking further into it- just 3 of the replacements have played only that week (Dragons game)... of those, Lousi's subsequent non-selection was enforced (injury), Sipley is named this week anyway.. leaving just Lane. So we'd still be at 31 even without that incident. And you have to think Lane would be used at some point during the season, otherwise why bother swapping for him?

Geezus, really? By round what is it, 15? That is absolutely outrageous. I think back to last year and every week, the Panthers had an injury or two, to key players. It seemed like WWIII was being waged solely upon them. Ivan lost his job because of it. And our guy might get to continue. Imagine if you could factor how many different combinations we've had...

As a side note, Maumalo will make the 32nd different player we've fielded so far this season. In only 13 (edit; make that 14) matches. Last year's NRL-wide record was 32 (Panthers) - can we beat it? Looks bloody likely.

The teams that play finals footy tend to know what their best team is and stick fairly close to it unless forced to change (last year only one top 8 team used 30 players - the Dragons). Cappy doesn't seem to have a clue.

In Comparison, the commentators during sharks v cowboys said Sharks have only used 19 players this year which is least of any team

He's only signed for this year, if we're serious about him we'd be looking after him.

Admittedly, he hardly set the game on fire during his 12 minutes in first grade so far.

Worrying trend that says if you play 30 or more, you don't play finals (at least at the Warriors). Wonder if that is how it looks league-wide.

Our forwards need to do the job against what is still a formidable Roosters pack. The rest will take care of itself.

Maumalo has big potential, but he'll never be a first class winger. We're wasting him on the wing.

Roosters are going to be a test. They're good enough to beat any team and I'm sure they'll be looking to avenge the earlier defeat from us. Also a good lead up to the Sharks game provided we come away unscathed by injuries or suspensions and of course, a loss.

You'd know the recipe pal.

Will be very interesting to see how our forwards go this weekend. The side the Roosters have named is a contrast - solid pack, awful backline. I don't think it'll be a 20-30 point scoreline at all with no Bull and other forwards needing to step up.
