Important game, again? Man, this top 8 is hard to break into. I can't remember a game like it.

I suppose it's going to be relatively unchanged- potentially Packer coming back in? Does he stroll back in, or do we stick with Matagi?

Is it time for Peyroux to get a starting jersey???

I was thinking yesterday about our depth. We didn't really flinch when the Fish got taken out for the season.

However, what happens when another of our backs gets injured? That would be Peyroux into the line-up, no probs. Then what happens when another one gets done?

This is where it helps to take an interest in the lower grades, posters here that do will be in a much better place to answer.

I just think it would be interesting to see Peyroux start, Hurrell to sub on at the 30min mark. Then sub Peyroux back on for the last 20mins. I know it would use an extra interchange, but I think it would work very well in Hurrell's favour.

Matagi please. He's been really impressive recently, better than I remember Packer anyway.

I'm sure Iv'e mentioned this before but Konrad Hurrell is not up to first grade fitness...his stamina is crap...this is odd coming at the back end of the season when most NRL players should have good stamina...surely it cant be his body shape. I've seen him when he's gassed and he just turns into a human turnstile.

Anyway, Elliot will again have to monitor his stamina levels and swap him over to the wing at the right time.

rather have Packer or Gubb in for Lowrie

That would make no sense though. I'm not entirely sure why Eliott likes doing that period where we play small with one prop on the park though. But we don't need to be carrying 5 props, I agree that Mateo should be playing at least 50 a game though. More minuted for Matulino and Mateo, less for Lowrie and ditch the one prop stage.

Matagi and Gubb are both small props who can play big minutes though. I know Matagi has played plenty of backrow, not sure about Gubb but he certainly looks like he could anyway.

I reckon either could play the interchange back-rower role and be better than Lowrie.

Eliott said Matagi needs to improve his work off the ball and in defense so I doubt he would even consider taking out Lowrie who is considered a bit of a toiler to be replaced with Matagi. And especially not in round 21 when we need a chasing a playoff spot. Lowrie can do a job in the back row, he just shouldn't be playing more minutes than Mateo and should not be out there when there is only one prop on the field imo.

At this stage I'd like to see Matagi retained over Packer, at least give Packer one week in the Vulcans.

i think hurrell gets gased becos he does a lot of work, always a hitup in the set and maybe 1-2 tackles in the opposing set then chasing the kick on attack then getting back for the first hitup of the set

More minutes for Matulino and Mateo. Less for Lowrie. Otherwise unchanged team please.

We know from past experience Mateo plays better when he's on the field more because he has more patience and doesn't feel the need to do something special on every touch. Those games when he played 70-80 minutes a while back were his best of the season.
