Huh? Havili aside I think this is a pretty positive, ballsy bunch of selections.

Agreed. Think its a good looking team. This is a chance for Tui to shine. He has looked confident and not overawed this year so I am hoping he can tackle this added responsibility and come up with some mature plays.

Glad to see no Lousi. I thought he really hurt us with his penalties and poor pass selection which resulted in errors last weekend against Manly.

Whats ballsy about picking Havilli and Ika. Id label those as dumb selections when better prospects/options are avaliable. Whats ballsy about replacing Fish, who was absolute rubbish last week?

He made a couple of obvious albeit correct decisions in picking Maumolo and Matulino in 2nd row then just shuffled the deck for the rest of it and came with basically the same losers who are being carried

Why not Bhana or Palavi, guys who havent had a shot this year, giving them a chance to resurrect their FG chances over a guy who has all but signed to leave in Ika

Why not one of the young spine players on the bench instead of Havilli who clearly has no faith from the coaches

Even Upu Poching would of been a ballsy pick as an attempt to generate some impact

Those would be ballsy selections

Palavi > Ika

Agree here

Would have preferred wright on the wing but maumalo is an upgrade on fish based on last week. Ika has been playing ok for reserves, but lousi didn't do anything to keep his spot

All things considered a decent looking team. If we had still been going half decently and losing Johnson was the only issue, I'd still be very confident of making the finals. The last couple of weeks have sapped my confidence though. We have the team to get he job done ("job" = making finals for me this year), but won't do anything if we can't pull together some decent form.

I'm super excited to see Tui given a go in the halves though. Good chance for him to stake a claim at rookie of the year if he does well in the next 6 rounds.

I can understand the disappointment in regards to Ika/Havili etc, especially the latter.

But there was dead weight - Rapira, Lousi and Fish - to be cut, and it was done. And he's dropped the safe option in Wright for a better metre-eater, finisher and long-term prospect which I love.

This side is much, much better than last week - even ignoring Manu's return.

Speed is one of the few attributes you cant truly train. You either have it or you dont. You can refine itbut you cant really learn it

Don't think its ballsy at all. Playing Tompkins at 6 would have been at least trying something different.
These selections are conservative to say the least. Fish had a bad game but hes been going well in NSW Cup at FULLBACK... Stop playing him out of position. I may be living in the past but as Phil Gould says " You cant buy speed"

Tomkins is the best fullback we have, and the best organiser from the back. Tui is a better defender in the line. It's the right call. Tomkins can be a playmaker from back there anyway.

And Fish is not a FG footballer, I'm sorry...he's not. He's got pace and bugger all else. Not safe under the high ball, defensively weak etc etc.

I'm actually still confused that people think we're an automatic right-off for the finals now SJ is gone. Our draw is actually pretty good - at a guess we'll start favourites in 4 or 5 of them. Sharks/Dragons/Cowboys home and Dogs/Panthers/Tigers away. The Cows home and Dogs away we might be second-favourite but the rest we should really be looking at winning. And 4 out of 6 will get us there you'd think.
