What a rubbish performance. How has centre become such a massive problem for us?? Has it been since Cleary left that defence out there just fell to shit?

We had it sorted for a brief few weeks last season, but post-Cleary its been mostly crap especially since Michael Luck retired.

I'd have been in favour of Henry at centre, to be honest. Desperate times.

I have been trying to work out why they were so bad last week on the flanks.

What I did notice was the wingers charging in. The Fish a couple of times and Manu at least once. That left overlaps and easy stroll through.

I can't recall whether the wingers charging in was because of bad reads in the middle or they were just jumping the gun. So was it actually the centres fault? Should the wingers rely on their inside men to make the one on ones?

I haven't rewatched the game, as it was bad enough first time round. But you would of course have expected the coaching staff to have done so...as well as the team. They didn't miss the one on ones, but seemed to be caught short. Is that not actually an indication of a defensive system failure, rather than one or two players?

So far, I am very, very unimpressed with Neilson. What does he add to this team? He makes zero line breaks, NEVER gives the ball to Manu..(well actually he did put him away once against para, but other than that).

This is something our wingers have been doing for a very long time and I can't figure out why. They leave the centres for dead trying to defend an overlap and they're left looking silly.

This doesn't excuse Tuimavave who was garbage at centre, but Neilson got screwed by Manu a couple of times with Tomkins nowhere to be found either.

Needs sorting out asap and bring in the Ro doesn't exactly do my confidence much good.

I see it as often being the other way around. Our wingers are put in the position where they have to make a 50/50 decision as to whether they come in or stay put because our defense is so compressed at the edges of the middle third. Neilson was a mile infield a few times which left a massive gap and led to overlaps. What are the wingers supposed to do in that situation? I doesn't matter if they stay put, the gap is still there and the opposition still has the numbers on them. Our overall defensive structure is the main issue, not the individual decisions of individual wingers.

Quite a good little discussion going on here. Quality stuff
Dragons are at $3.50 so stick a lazy on them and if they win, at least you can have a drink to drown your sorrows on your winnings :D

I know quite a lot of Warriors fans that take this approach. It makes total sense, though sometimes there isn't enough drink in the entire world to make the sorrows go away.

Hmmmm.

Eden Park curse.

Bogey team.

Ropati playing.

We got dis.

Saints 28 Penrose 18.

Hmmm, unfortunately there's some reasonable logic there... point 3 is the most worrying to be honest - I like loyalty, but keeping him on the books is beyond loyalty imho

If Ropati is the answer clearly Elliott didn't understand the question.

Don't really have that much of a problem with Ropati in the team to be honest, and I used to despise Cleary and McClennans obsessions with him. My only worry is that he will not be up to speed, has happened 2-3 times in his first game back from injury the last few season.

Ropati had a decent game on attack against an admittedly crap Raiders towards the end of last season.

But if I remember correctly Jarrod Croker pretty much ran straight through him, hard to find any confidence in Ro to defend.

Anyone know what happens if the football is called off tomorrow? Is the game re-played? Where? Are the points shared?

FEddie, I want to have your children :ls::ls:

Get a room!

I hope Ropati gets sucked up into the on-coming tornado, gets whisked away to a magical place and then some bitch and her little dog lands a house on him!

Ding Dong, f**k off Ropati!
