Team v Storm

Bolded are playing this week regardless of position.

So according to that we're 6 people, and a couple positional changes short of our full strength team.

And looking at the missing players:
Both Wingers
Both Starting Props
Our Halfback
And a Backrower

That is considerable damage to a team.

Look at another team roughly where we are and do that to them and see how strong they look.

Manly:
1. Stewart
2. Robertson
3. Lyon
4. Matai
5. Williams (The sh!t one)... ( that doesn't clear it up.. the sh!t one with a beard)
6. Foran
7. Orford
8. Perry
9. Ballin
10. King
11. Watmough
12. Stewart
13. Bailey

14. Lestrange
15. Kite
16. Rose
17. Rodney

* I took out Kite from the bench as they don't play an equivalent to Paterson in their team.

Imagine the bold players are out.

Team looks a lot weaker all of a sudden.

I'd say there is a fair reason why things have gone pear shaped.

And that's just injuries, no mention of confidence/form.

No the sad thing is we are almost at full strength. Dureau Tolar Patterson and Uate are all fringe first grade players and its debatable whether they would even make the full strength team. Comparing them to Orford Perry Williams and Kite is kind of ridiculous. The only quality players we have missing are Cross and Mcmanus and thats no worse then what any other NRL side is facing.

Also are Uate and Patterson even injured? I thought they were dropped because of poor form.

If Cory Paterson is a 'fringe first grader' what the hell does that make Marvin and Wes? Pato would have to be the greatest fringe first grader of all time.

Also Cross and Tolar were our starting props in round one, so I think it's fair to say that Tolar is a genuine first grader as well.

Paterson would have to be 1 of the laziest forwards in the NRL. He should be 1 of the most destructive players in the game with his size and skillset, but until he wants to have a deadset go and get his hands dirty,i'm happy for Wes and Marvin to be picked ahead of him.

Cory has depression and we could speculate as to the why's, but it is really not our position to do so. It is my bielief that he is clearly not 100% physically or mentally and we should leave it at that. Super talent regardless. He will come good.

I think Wes has to go. Karawana is able to cover more spots than Wes in case of injury.

I know there is not much rating of either of these guys, but they are insurance policies, but no one has 2 life insurance policies do they?

Karawana can cover more spots?? Wes can fill in the positions of 1-5, plus 11-13. Karawana can cover 11-13 and 6. If there is an injury in the backline we have no other options other then Wes. If there is an injury in the forwards, then there can be a reshuffle using Wicks or Fa'aoso.

Maybe Cory's "state of mind" has something to do with him NOT being selected.
.
Surely if he was fit and ready he would have to be picked instead of those two 'waste of space' impact players listed!!!!!!!!!!!
Apparently he was out on the field in the warm up last Sunday at Parra, landing drop goals, practicing goal-kicking, yet wasn't included in the side ...

You'd think if he's out there warming up, he was fine mentally and was raring to go, right?

That bench is so soft, Timmy, and even Con would make it look so much stronger, Wicks input has been ordinary of late as well, also if Dureau is fit he should be starting, we need an organiser out there.

Be interesting to hear news about Scotty over the next few days...he was supposed to be looking at the Storm game as being fit for selection from memory.

No, no, no, no, no.

Karawana and Naiqama on the bench ahead of players like Paterson? Dear, oh dear, oh dear.

/signed

Naiqama is pushing it to be effective as a back, but generally you put up with his mistakes for a solid defensive performance, he is just a bag of fail coming on as a forward.

Karawana, after doing quite well this season has tappered off to the point where i wouldnt have him near the first grade side, he has become lazy in defence and doesnt offer enough in attack to keep his spot. he is turning into shawn rudder.

We should be looking to next year, putting some guys in that will actually be first graders next year, not putting out guys that wont make it past the pre season under another coach.
