Here's hoping... although the size of his head probably wouldn't fit.

pretty harsh when he is only 17 or 18. . .
he may not be the greatest customer, but i wish him all the best.
its hard being a young aboriginal kid from a poor area to suddenly being in the limelight as a future star etc.

i may be wrong but i think your comment is harsh?

The only problem I have with Mateo is that he has an above average error rate and can also be a bit lazy in defence , given that we're winning off the back of a very high completion rate with the ball and great defence .....why change it ?

Well my answer is that he is 10 times the player lowrie is/ 5 times the player joe g is/ 5 times better than B Smith...He is a calss act and a player that can get a team into a grand final.Like he was in the top 5 players in the comp, class players do have mistake rates but they also win games with vision and class.

this is the new regime, let him work his way back in, make them appreciate the hard work involved. surely that has to be better for the hunger/passion then walking straight back in from a long term injury.

You're entitled to your opinion. :D

But for mine he's 18, yet to play first grade, and already has an attitude bigger than his talent.

Parramatta officials are also reluctant to re-sign Kelly because of discipline concerns.
The teenager recently spat the dummy at Eels Toyota Cup coach David Fairleigh after being dropped to the bench.
Better off without players like that, however hard things might be for him.

I reckon Mateo should get a look in off the bench this week...this is a massive game for us, and the Tigers simply can't handle him. They've never been able to, they struggle with offloads and Hayne and Burt off the back of Fui, Cayless and Mateo has the potential to destroy them.

after everything that Gareth Holmes and Kevin Wise has done for this kid, he had the audacity to turn around and spit it back it back in our faces, the kid is a dick head, however if there's anyone out there who is able to get the best out of him it's definitely Joey Grima.

btw, I'm happy with the side chosen but am also happy with the possible mystique it brings with it if grapeape is correct...

If it aint broke - don't fix it .....I'd be happy to see him on the bench at best , but can't blame Anderson for sticking with the players that have won 5 straight games .....and lets be realistic - Mateo is a turnstile in defence .......

tbh if Farleigh was my coach i'd be having an attitude too, no coincidence that we are pretty much last.

yeah, but good honest players like Baiteri, Mitchell and Johnston just grit their teeth and bare it Ron, it's a good sign of professionalisim when you're starting out as a young player.

Nah sweet as, i just thought he was young and like me stupid. . .
But you would no more about the kind of person he may be etc.

Tbh it will be terrible if someone as talented as Albert got lost to the world of rugby league due to a lack guidance.

TBH anyone who spits the dummby like that at a coach is not worth the time or effort. We want good plays but also professional players who will be a good imagine on the club.

Mateo has spent the past fortnight on standby to replace Fuifui Moimoi, who bravely started the past two matches with a medial ligament tear in his right knee. While Moimoi is considered a definite starter on Friday night, an Eels insider said Mateo would likely start on the bench in place of rookie forward Jeremy Latimore.

"There have been a few concerns over Feleti's match fitness because he hasn't played any football for so long," the insider said.

"But Feleti did an endurance test this week and ticked all the boxes, so he's ready to go.

"There's a good chance he'll be back this week on the bench. It's a massive game and he's one of our top players.

"But it's a big call to change a winning side."

Mateo will be told tomorrow whether he is playing before a 30,000-plus crowd at the SFS Park or a handful of punters at a suburban oval.

i am sorry but feleti should be a walk up into our team...
he is easily one of our best and carried our team during a time when we had no halves and he had to play makeshift 5/8....

sure he has been injured but your best players should get a walk into the team....
if hindy was out this long would he return through wenty? no way...
mateo is an important part of this team...

his stats are amazing, and that is in a struggling team who had no go forward.

imagine how he would play now?

i know he had some errors but that was through trying to hard and being the go to man
