I'd have Wright over Ricky based on last week, but all in all, it is the best that could have been hoped for.

Why? I dont see anything in Wright that suggests he would make an NRL centre. Slow with no agility. He has a future as a backrower maybe.

Ricky did well apart from some poor choices with passing. He looks like a centre though. Good pace and can run a line.

Wright has shown the ability to throw a well-timed pass. With him at centre against the Titans we win. That's why I would pick him this week.

I don't think the guy is a world-beater but he does the basics well, more than can be said for the rest of the centre options.

When Wright played centre he did not do the basics well. Poor positioning, bad reads etc IMO, he is below Best,Pommeroy and Collis (and thats saying something). I agree with the poster who sees him as a future back rower. He is too slow for a back. Wont get quicker and doesnt seem overly strong. NSW Cup nuffie. So far he has tried wing, centre and 5/8 with minimal success. We sign him for another 2 years.ffs. No wonder we will try him as a backrower. Wish Japanese rugby would come in for him.

NSW Cup team bolstered by Wright and Tautai

I honestly don't want to see Too Too in our first grade side again. Dead set he is thick. That slow stroll back in defense with his back turned to the Tits, near our line was the final straw for me. The time when the scored from dummy half.

Sheeeeeeezzzzzzzzze.

Fair enough and I won't argue that. In fact Wright is a small backrower in wingers clothes when it comes to attack IMO

As to my thoughts on defence, they can be applied to any winger not just Wright. If they aren't given a fighting chance then they have no hope. They should all watch the veteran Anthony Quinn and how he is able to come in and kill off centres because of the speed of the rest of the Storm line. Quinn can get that achieved because he's already up there on the end of a fast moving line. Any poor Sharks winger is a sitting duck due to the slow line, half slide, overcompressed rubbish Flanno has them playing

He he Frenzy...Whenever I hear the name Anthony Quinn i automatically think of Paul Mellor lol.....Sharks V Knights 2002....I don't think anyone thought Quinn was future Origin material that day :D

Ok I've been doing some thinking...desperate thinking if you like.

Next year our club has done nothing in regards to centres. So in other words we will have the same blokes there that are doing jack this year.

What's everyones thoughts on throwing Wade in there?

He can tackle, he has the ball skills and he has the vision. He might not have the pace however that might work well for him in our team. It would also keep him away from kicking the footy in general play.

Thoughts?

More likely their NSW Cup side. Unless (like Merritt) he performs better on returning to his original club.

The way Parra's centres are going they must cringe at the thought of Tautai playing there next year.

Bust has played out whatever he had to offer - it's over, lights out before you leave.

Hopefully Mills learns where to be in D. Maybe watch a few video's of the great ET. Rocket science stuff.

So I can understand the logic behind naming Pomeroy on the bench - he can easily slot into the 2nd row while covering the outside backs.

But Best? He either starts or is dropped for mine

Best had 1 absolute shocker against Hodges (that incidently noone in our team could stop) and hes "done, finished" etc. Up until that game, noone was saying he wasn't our 1st choice. He, when fit, has still a lot to offer the team, and if starting this week, I'd reckon, will be ready to make ammends for previous couple of games...If not, I'll be one of first to join this 'chorus'!

Wade is too slow....as for his kicking....he can work on it...he's not the first to start out with an ordinary kicking game.....I agree he has vision....but no one to share it with..........and how does 'slowness' work well in our team? That's precisely whats wrong....it's nearly all of whats wrong with the blundering shambles that is our backline....the total lack of explosiveness in our outside backs...
There hasn't been any announcements made re centres...this is true...but I trust whatevers going on with recruitment at the Sharks....that they are scouring the rugby league planet to unearth one.....it's our most blatent deficiency.

i dont think so. Attacking Centres are over rated these days. Look at the salary cap Dragons. They have the 2 best centres in the game, yet they rarely excite anybody other than drunken females.
The only centres in the game IMO that ge real well every game & are exciting to watch is Tate, Farrell, Blair & Hodges. But they all suffer from D proglems, unlike the bores in red & white.
