I'm still a bit unsure about Konnie not doing a full 80, but Henry's clearly struggling to play the position.

I've expressed grumpiness with Packer for the past two weeks and this game did nothing to help. What's going on with him?

I'd have Inu and Hurrell on the team and would bring Locke back the second he's fit, which I hope is this week and would seriously consider putting Manu on the bench as an impact forward. However that would leave us a wing short, unless Hurrell played wing, which would leave us a centre short, which would mean Benry keeps his backline spot - Gah!

Our backline depth is horrendous.

How about Taylor in the centres and Mannering at lock? I reckon that could work. Taylor is more of a ballplayer than a dominant tacklebot and in my eyes we need someone more ruthless in the middle. Mannering is probably our only consistently good defender right now - and he is great at slowing the play down.

Is there a rule that the Warriors props all have to play similar minutes? At what point do we say "Ok, these guys are performing better than these guys, lets give them 50-60 minutes to really dominate and if the others want more minutes they better put in".

Don't get me wrong, there's an obvious advantage to having 4 top quality props, but when a couple are clearly performing better would it be so drastic to go off gameplan and give them extra time to really stamp their mark on an opposition?

That's probably the next best option, certainly better than benry. I do feel sorry for Benry, he can only do what's asked of him and nobody can fault his effort. He hasn't been bad at centre, but hasn't added anything worthwhile.

Or maybe it's just easier to look capable. When you consider what's on the opposite side of the field.

Yeah, i really want to see Matulino ripping it up for 60 minutes. I actually think he's got what it takes to be our next 80-minute prop.

Henry was easily the best defensive back on the weekend, and scored a try...I would be replacing both wingers before
even thinking about dropping him, and you know the rest were garbage, when SJ was easily the second best.
I'm not sure if you noticed, but our defense is kind of a problem at the moment.

I made a comment in another thread about trying to put your two fastest players on the field by leaving Fish at FB and try out Locke at 6 or 7. I change me mind after watching Fish try and defend.

As for Matulino, how the f**k do you not start this guy? He has been our best forward, hard to tackle, tackles very hard and plays like he wants to win.

I for one think Mannering should start yelling at people instead of trying to lead by example. Maybe he is just too nice of a guy to try and tell the vets how they should be playing. Maybe he's waiting until he's 30 before he thinks he can start to tell them to play with some heart....I don't know. I think he should just suck it up and see what happens when he starts to put players in their place on the field.
