As much as people like to shit on Mullen he wouldn't have wasted half of the opportunities Gidley and Roberts did today. They're deadwood that along with Houston and Fa'alogo kill EVERYTHING the side creates. Randell gave us the first bit of true spark we've seen all year and never once did we make the most of it. The more he gets his hands on the ball, the more chances he gets to run, the better.

lol Gidley will go back to fullback, Sione to #18, Tapine will get punted for Stockwell with Houston and Fa'alogo surviving.

I think the most we can possibly hope for out of Stone is:

1. Gagai - best game from a Knights fullback since Boyd. Has to stay there, surely.
2. McManus - on thin ice
3. Sione - Maybe switch him inside McManus. Deserves another crack, but looking like he might be better off spending some time in the lower grades.
4. Leilua - Big dumb baby.
5. Uate - Is the best option we have. Can't defend with Sione, though.
6. Mullen - obviously we need him to be good Mullen, not crap Mullen.
7. Gidley - for lack of a better option

The rest picks itself... although am I the only one not seeing what everyone else seems to see in Tapine? Why all the hype on this kid?

Thought Tapine had some great carries right towards the end. He's like Sione, has a lot of potential but just needs time. Having him come in every few weeks isn't going to do him a whole lot of good. Furthermore with Smith near the end we need to get someone in to fill the position. Even if we slide Rochow or Tariq into Lock, there's still a position to fill. Worth putting a kid like him there; just needs the experience first.

I like Tapine because the kid actually has a bit of leg drive and keeps trying to run and make impact/metres when the defenders grab him. Apart from Snowden he was one of the only ones putting his hand up for runs at the end there and Manly were needing 4 defenders to bring him down. Massive improvement on someone like Houston who stops the moment someone touches him and could probably get pulled down one on one by Luke Walsh.

Tapine was the goods, but for whatever reason, just like Paterson did, he has regressed.

Doesn't seem as explosive with his runs. Playing in the middle may be the reason for it.

Tapine is a fantastic edge back rower being wasted in the middle. Has great footwork and leg drive, but you hardly see it when he's being monstered by opposition front rowers

Gagai
McManus (very thin ice)
Leilua
Sione (needs to be told to stay on his man in defense)
Uate
Mullen
Randell (needs to be more involved)
Snowden
Clydsdale
Korbin
Scott
Tariq
Smith

Roberts (bench utility, just pass or run from dummy half and exploit tired forwards)
Stockwell
Vaivai
Tapine

When Cogger and Lamb are playing then I will show an interest in caring about the results again. Could be a couple of seasons away at least. The frustration of paying players who are NSW Cup calibre overs makes me boil. I would not mind if we had a coach who could improve the side. Trent Barrett is a coach I would be keeping a close eye on. That is a bloke who could make a real go of it here. His work at Penrith I believe has been excellent

Who really cares, Stone doesn't, Midley doesn't , the board doesn't.

It will be the same players, making the same mistakes and it will be 6 straight losses by this time next week.

I don't think wholesale changes are the answer, but gee they have to do something about the halves. Everything was in slow motion today. And it has been for six weeks.

Why do people keep picking VaiVai? Dude cant last 5 minutes without needing a nap.

On topic, it will be a copy/paste.

Until we get a FG standard 7, we aren't doing much besides stacking up the losses.

Tigers were beaten by a similar margin to us this week so of course they'll fire up and put 40 on us and Stoney and Gids will sit in the press conference and talk about how "we just need to keep working hard and it'll all turn around for us"
