Hohepa needs to be resigned before he gets his spot on the bench or it will cost us either more money or losing him.
It has to be the only reason why he hasn’t cracked the 17 yet.

Whilst I am firmly in the H. Puru as the no.14 camp, I'm going to offer up another opinion of maybe how the coaches are thinking.
The structure of the draw.
Our first bye is Round 13, with a helluva lot of travel going on.

They have been very structured with the Interchange, AFB and OK both 43 mins, Toby and Hazo both 30 mins. Leaving Sifa and Atko to pick up minutes around McInnes, with a bit of middle off the others.

I daresay that up until round 13 they are looking for as much stability as possible, and in turn getting ready for the natural taper off that occurs between rounds 13 and round 18 (our first 2 byes).

After that we will need to be playing at a harder level as we have another bye in round 25 before the season finishes 2 rounds later.

So maybe the coaches are trying to keep as much stability going on, barring injury, to counter the draw up until the mid season byes.
If an injury does occur for any of Hynes, Trindall, Kennedy or Atkinson then you'd expect that H. Puru is in the 17, but they may go Hiroti, who knows.

"Strength in numbers" so to speak. It's quite common that the teams at the top of the ladder at the end of the season are usually the ones who have used the least players over the whole course of the season.

Just spit ballin' it.

Watching one team with interest in context of this widely accepted tenet.

Panthers have used 21 players already. In 7 rounds. 22 by the end of this round if Mavrik plays off the bench

I would:

Cut through all the BS and put the 7 on Trindalls back. He kicks. He takes the reins. He is a 7. Has always been a 7.
The other bloke wears 6 and all he has to do is run a lot harder.

Start mcinnes at 9 for the early part of the game. If there's any softening up period he has the head for it.

Sifa is 13.

Sometime during the game brayley comes on fresh with the plan being to impact the attack with some running.
Mcinnes can have a break or go to 13 and Sifa has a rest.

Or Sifa can go to right centre and ramien can go to wing. Ramien - who is having little to no impact at the moment - can hug the touchline and sifa can play inside him. Plenty of power there.
Ramien just have to get his springs on for bombs.

Atko. NSW Cup.
If we're in the business of developing a player for 15 minutes each match, who makes zero impact, surely we benefit more from it being a future shark - not a dargon.
