Team vs. Titans.

This week, we have the bye. A good chance for the boys to recuperate, relax and think about what they did. After the bye, we are playing the Titans. We should win that one, since the Titans have been playing like a bunch of Under 10's.

Here is what i think the team should look like.

1. Kevin Locke
2. Krisnan Inu
3. Joel Moon
4. Lewis Brown
5. Manu Vatuvei - Make this his last chance if he stuffs up.
6. James Maloney
7. Shaun Johnson
8. Sam Rapira - He is due back isn't he?
9. Alehana Mara
10. Russell Packer
11. Feleti Mateo
12. Simon Mannering
13. Elijah Taylor

14. Pita Godinet - Give him a go and make him start from the bench and switch him if Maloney isn't doing well.
15. Ben Matulino
16. Ukuma Ta'ai - Apparently, i heard he will be back in time for this game.
17. Steve Rapira.

No Jacob Lillyman. I heard he broke his nose during the Storm game.

That's the team I'd pick too.
Probably Heremaia starting hooker and Mara on the bench though, also I'd consider Isaac John in the 6 jersey.

Good Team i'll go with that pick for sure, if Moon doesnt get the green light, we should chance Hurrell against the Titans, I mean if the bloke has a shocker we got enough to cover centre

Assuming Lillyman is out

Locke
Tupou
Berrigan
Inu
Vatuvei- don't know what game the OP was watching. He was much improved v Storm
Maloney- wouldn't be in my team if Seymour wasn't injured. This halves combo presents defensive difficulties
Johnson
Sam Rapira
Mara
Packer
Mateo
Mannering
Taylor

Res- Brown, Matulino, Ta'ai/Steve Rapira, Gavet

Im pretty sure that if Lillyminge is out then Gavet will get a run. Was going to a couple of weeks back till he picked up that injury. Had an absolute barn stormer last week.

Surely a broken nose won't stop Lillymud.

1 Locke
2 Inu
3 Brown
4 Mannering
5 Vatuvei
6 Maloney
7 John
8 Packer
9 Heremaia
10 Lillyman
11 Mateo
12 Rapira, Steve
13 Taylor

14 Johnson
15 Matulino
16 Ta'ai
17 Rapira, Sam

18 Gavet
19 Mara

Harsh on Berrigan, after his best game. Is it risky to not use one of our usual makeshift rakes? I figure Taylor can slot in there, as can Brown and Ice if need be to get SJ on.

^ awesome news.
With Ta'ai back in the team we will break this bastard of a losing streak, just you watch. After several weeks with no chance to distribute pain amongst humans, the Tongan King will be frustrated and ready to destroy.

5. Manu Vatuvei - Make this his last chance if he stuffs up.

Why? He was good against the Storm I thought, looked hungry and upped his workrate, only one error and that was forced. He looked like he's geting form and confidence back, not the time to be putting him on notice.

Locke
Inu
Berrigan
Tupou
Vatuvei
Maloney
Johnson
Rapira
Heremaia
Packer
Mannering
Mateo
Taylor

Matulino
Brown (Would rather Mara but doubt he'll get the spot over Midgy)
Sam Rapira
Steve Rapira (Think Ta'ai may need a game in the Vulcans to get up to speed)

This way we have backs in the backs. Sam Rapira gets a bench spot cos he's that good, Ta'ai to get some match fitness in Vulcans, Brown to cover Heremud when he comes off or Mannering to shift to lock, Brown to second row and Taylor to rake.

This, however will not happen and Hohaia will find him a bench spot and Brown to centre to replace Tupou.

Whatever happens, can we please win? Thanks.

^ we won't win without Ta'ai in the team. Stuff the Vulcans, he comes straight into first grade.

The Titans are crap anyway so we'll get the win with or without him. If he's to come back in top form without having to play reserves then I'm all for him getting a bench spot.

If they beat us with that lineup I posted and having Bird backing up from Origin a few days later, I'll be spewing it. There is no reason for them to beat us at home next Friday. If we lose I rekon it'll go a long way to being the worst performance of the season.

If we lose, i bet you that Cleary will be shown the door faster than you can say Sam Moa (Not the country).

Heremia will start if fit as he is a better dummy half than Mara. Expecially as SJ will be back. We can't have two scatter heads in the hooker/halves. Heremia is also a better defender.

Ivan, I hope is a professional and will continue to pick players based on the team/game plan and opposition.

Ukuma Tai? Well he better pick up his work rate if he expects a run. With no Luck there to make his tackles he might struggle.

Centres have to be Brown and Berrigan again. Though Inu could come back in, but the backs (excluding Hohaia) looked solid against the Storm. I expect only changes for Liilyman, Seymour and Locke for Hohaia.

The only way Hurrell should ever get a run this year is if we drop way out of contention and he can have a game or two to get the feel of 1st grade. But with Ivan leaving, why would he plan for the future?
