Anyways, as I said, if you are an Aussie and couldn't find a reason to cheer millman (which is not the sane as not cheering fed) then you can't be helped

I was there and I was supporting Federer as frankly I want the semis to be competitive, Millman would get smacked.

He will still be more competitive than a journeyman in Millman. I don’t buy semi tickets to watch Novak against some scrub

Millman would very unlikely to have got to the semis.

We're you going for sandgren today? You know, in the interest if a competitive semi final.

So your position is that more than 50% of the crowd weren't Australian? I find that exceedingly hard to believe.

Nick had way more support than rafa.

Because Kyrgios is the biggest name we have atm who Aussies come to watch play, and Rafa is no where near as big as Federer. No one is. If you follow tennis outside of the Aus Open and possibly Wimbledon, you'll know this.

Honestly I’m happy Federer got through as much as I don’t like him much. It’s not going to matter Novak is belting whoever is in that semi.

Fed will need to play the match of his life to beat the GOAT in the semi

Federer won't be able to match Djokovic physically, let alone beat him. We're talking about an injured 38yo. If Djokovic is serious it will be a massacre. It is a shame, as Fed played superbly & belted Djokovic in the tour finals just a few weeks ago. Even if he were fit, he's nowhere near that level.

Djokovic was excellent tonight. Fantastic on return & strong on serve. Raonic was very disappointing, the match following the usual pattern with these two.

I'm tipping Djokovic to go through Federer in straights in the SF & Nadal in straights should he make the final. Thiem & Stan could cause him some problems.

F*** Federer. He found a way to escape today (as true champions do), despite his mysterious and suspiciously "random" medical time out that "coincidentally" flared up immediately after he went 3-0 down in the 3rd set. The recovery was magical, and he came back with nothing to lose everything to gain. If he lost - poor injured Fed. Win - adversity. What a mental advantage.... Kudos though, he did hold his nerve on match points.
I cannot wait to see him straight-setted by the GOAT and to hear what excuse Roger will come up with.....

I'd say he'll probably lead with an accurate summation, such as "I'm an injured 38yo man". But really, everyone knows Djokovic is the much faster, younger and more consistent player & has been for a long while. You've got to remember, the ATG Serb is a whopping 6 years younger, which is about half a career in the old measurement.

Fed is so, so, so far away from anything resembling his best it's ridiculous. He's been playing with house money for about 5 years, at least. Even now he's still managed to straight set Djokovic a few weeks back. That probably shouldn't happen given his age & noticeable decline. The guy is a freak & shouldn't be measured solely by his twilight. What he mustered up today was pretty damn inspiring. But "F*** Federer", right?

Halep won her QF 6-1 6-1 in 50 minutes.

lol @ women's tennis. It's unwatchable moonball bashing these days.

#equalpayforequalwork

No smarts at all in women’s tennis (men’s the same minus the big 3).

Imagine a woman with half the brains of Hingis or Navratilova out there. They’d win everything.

Ridiculous for Nadal to go into meltdown after the umpire did her job. He’s had so much leniency with the shot clock.
