Tepai Moeroa

We've had quite a few kids come through in the last year or so that were going to be The Next Big Thing. I'd easy up on Moeroa until we see what he delivers over a longer period.

Penis Torpedo and Tang seem to have dropped away, Pauli isn't setting the world on fire...Junior is going consistently well but that's still only a 25% strike rate.

Cant ease up on him. He needs to be played and be good so that we can pay him 200k.
Otherwise yawnion will be banging the door down...

Lot more exciting playing NRL then being a back up for a super 15 side playing in front of 20 people on a cow patch. I doubt he would push for a starting spot in Union in his first year.

I dare say by choosing league last year over Union he sees his future in league, or he would have made the change.

BTW-I remember laster year Tanginoa was the best thing since hindy, than Pauli Pauli and now tepai. Some of you guys need too put a sock on your #ock

Don't make it easy....

Tanginoa will come good. His limited off season has hampered this season. I wouldn't write him off just yet.

As for Union, they are losing some of their big names to Japanese and French Rugby because they can't compete with the salaries. His manager will be using this to drive up his price and rightly so but he won't get the money that was being offered in previous seasons. The biggest worry would be the Chiefs.

I understand that a limited off-season can impact a players form at the start of the year, but FFS we are 18 rounds into the comp. That is about the length of the off-season.

How much longer does he need to be ready for FG this season?

I was present when BA said that he screwed up by picking Kelepi when he had only had a limited preparation in the off-season so he sent him back to NYC - however that was 15 rounds ago.

Kelepi has still had plenty of injury problems throughout the year. He is still in rehab for his knee problem.

Hopefully it's just his body still developing.

Having watched all 3 of these guys move through from 15 year olds til today. Moeroa would have been the standout all along. Tanginoa was always devastating although his frame was never ideally suited to edge back row in this day and age of tall aggressive athletes. Pauli has been hit and miss all the way through, even last year and earlier this year there were a number of concerns around his defence, work rate and ability to play big minutes. For mine he could end up in the middle. Tepai has always been the big tall athlete that was suited to the edge, punishing defence, ability to offload and run a great line.

Descent, Jake....descent (spelling Nazi strikes again).

Anyway, I reckon Tepai looks pretty handy, and if he doesn't make it won't be b/c we are a bit optimistic about his future.

He has been hampered by injury right through the season. Not just from the start of it. He is still maturing and was rushed at the start. That has not been ideal and has been a big factor in his development for this season.
