Over at the bunnies forum the theory is that Lodge will sign with them once Saints makes space for him by signing Ilias. That is diabolical.
Good point Jubilee , Bennett has been very quiet of late , or at least the media has no 1st hand quotes from the master coach himself .

And Lodge would be just the type of player that would appeal to him , one with which he could rejuvenate his career and relatively cheap .

May, Lodge and JAC all have one thing in common.
Flanagan has spoken to all 3 of them, but did not make a firm offer to any of them.
There would be a few middles he would be monitoring, we just don't know who they are.
Just for fun, how do you think Brandon Smith might go at Saints for 2026? Not worth the money for the impact? Myself, I think he plays too hot and cold.

Please , please not that cretin . Other than Melbourne , he has never seemed to be a team player , that plus he is a dirty sod , a penalty magnet , would rather a player who is able to benefit from Flanagan’s coaching .

I am racking my brain trying to think who else could be dislodged.. like the movement of RCG to the Titans should in theory create a problem for them... but they have done incredibly to keep everyone eager to be a Titan.. we had a good crack at dislodging someone from them, whether it was a prop or a half...

If May went to the Tigers.. I mean is there someone like Pole maybe who is in his last year..

But noone else obvious is left.. I mean we could try to secure 'someone' for 2026 and agitate early.. but the 'guns' are mostly spoken for once Thommo/May/Lodge are signed.

This is the list anyway of Middles in their last 12mths of contract:

Fonua Pole's numbers are not anywhere near as good as May's.

honestly I dont know him from a bar of soap.. im just trying to join the dots toward who we can dislodge coming into the xmas period already.. and a lock would not be the worst acquisition.. dont feel like we have a proper 13 in our squad.. and I know we were after Hetherington.

Ideally we want someone who can trample opponents for 20 minutes twice a game. Those guys are like hen's teeth.

Neither is May
Parra or Tigers

May is making a clear choice of who he thinks is the better coach for his career development out of Flano Ryles and Benji
A failure to sign May tells us alot about the current stance of our club when we can not compete against the cellar dwellers
No more excuses
Its time
At this point we have only signed players that have not been chased by any other club and even then we have overpaid and have given them their terms in the length of contracts

David Moale is still unsigned beyond 2025....big strong young lad, who is only going to get better. If Lodge goes to Bunnies, he might be worth a sniff

You're right. Deano would have signed him by now.
Lock stock and barrel because player managers in my opinion will like to deal with him more and in this instance he is up against bottom struggling clubs so there is no reason he wouldn’t sign him

Bullsh&t, if he thought that he would stay at the roosters where he has a contract for another year.

There is still a bunch of damaging middles in that list waiting for a meaningful shot:
Hau Tapua
Pahulu
Greig
Vaalepu

Due to our situation, we probably have to go on the potential of them and offer one of the ones biding their time a crack to pry what’s hopefully a decent middle

For me, Brandon Smith is lazy and sometimes arrives at dummy half with no energy. Opposite to Cook.
It amused me when he blasted the Wests Tigers in a podcast for coming back from a break unfit and not meeting the teams stds. He can talk.
Wasn't he the one given a breach notice by the chooks for missing a team meeting.
