Settle down guys, he's not crawling around on the floor as a method of cheating...

He's just trying to collect the hair that gets knocked out with every tackle

Normally I'd be offended that people are making fun of a player who has suffered a serious injury but it's a Raiders player so it's ok

He isn’t the only player who does it, the ref usually keeps the 10m at the spot he called held anyway, the attacker only shortens the 10 for his own team by crawling forward, but honestly the guy is looking at 12months on the sideline, show some compassion.
He is a good player and a top bloke.
The thread is childish and stupid, grow up.

Hey yeah...you know what?
He's right.

The ref stands still, the defense stands still...the markers stand still....................................all while attacker, dummy half and supports are going forward

Have a think about it Raider01

If the refs penalised every player who steps or crawls forward off the mark in a game of footy we would have 100 penalties a game.

lol,,, yeah lets start a thread over something so wide spread in the game this late in the season and scapegoat a player who has just done his acl, and who’s team isn’t even in the running anymore.

He will be pushing shiit uphill with a straw to even step onto the field in 2011.

Poor timing and irrelevant imo, but each to their own, if the op and the people taking pot shots get off on kicking a bloke when he is down than kudos to them.

Obviously some people dont like Terry Campese.
Thats cool,, I will show myself out...

What does this have to do with his injury? Getting a bit precious.

As for 'everyone else does it', can't remember many other instances of someone stealing a good 5m + from a play the ball.

lol it was cynical as hell but all sides do various little bullsh*t unsporting plays to get advantage. the fun of professional sport. its not exactly cheating the salary cap by millions of dollars, its stealing a few metres to give the raiders a bit of advantage.

the refs are allowed to penalise it.

I think players would stop doing it pretty quickly.
They would.
But that doesnt make for a good TV product, which is what the NRL is now.
The refs excuse & justify it by claiming that attack shortens the 10.
But its done time and time again, if it was of no benefit why would it be continued?
Because on the off chance a ref looks away for a second, the attacker moves forward and gets the markers offside, the ref looks back and blows a penalty. Mission accomplished.
Its a blight on the game and one of my biggest gripes...moving off the mark

sh*ts me too. campese did it a couple of tiems and the worst part was it wasnt a metre off it was like 3 or 4....

i hate when the tackled players gets up, walks to the side of the marker, then the marker gets penalsied for being offside....

another example of referees taking the onus off the attackers, just like in the play the ball
