As much as Id love to see him at Souths, I don't think he will shine as much as he has in Melbourne with the inexperience we have in a few key positions

Barring Billy Slater, the backline he had to work with last year didn't exactly have any household names...Duffie, Nielsen, Champion, Quinn, Widdop. They got a minor premiership out of it though.
Cronk is a star, would make a huge difference at any club. He has the complete game.

The talks with Maloney are a decoy. The real target for 2013 is Cronk.

And South's decoy bid scared off six other hopeful clubs leaving Easts to secure Maloney's signature. Good luck chasing Cronk next year, all clubs will be cashed up, with many looking for an available half.

But how many of them have his former mentors (Maguire/Johns) as coach?
