Im guessing King, Hodges and Thurston will be back next game. Lyon did not do enough to keep his spot ahead of Hodges or King IMO.

Got to laugh at 1 bad game and people writting Sticky off as a coach though :lol:

You never know, he may get injured or require a break of some sort. Plus Smith is a damn fine player, you could use him as an impact player if required as well.

The problem is, its not 1 bad game. Look at what he did to the roosters and in all honesty they were really really lucky to win the second game against NZ.

You'll have to admit he has a reputation for strange selections and tonight did not help.

As a Shark fan I would have MURDERED for strange selections this year.

His selections tonight most definitely puzzled me, but we were already guaranteed a spot in the final, and I can understand his decision to rest a few of his players and let them get over a few niggling injuries. I don't necessarily agree with it, but that's just my personal opinion.

Look who was wearing 7 and 6 for the last 10 games.
Look who wore number 5 for the whole season.

If that was the best he could do with an average squad as you call it, which included the likes of Minichello, Fitzgibbon, Morely, Craig Wing, Amos Roberts, Chris Flannery and then this year throw in the likes of Anasta and Harrison, yeah I call that pretty average.

Mini was gone most of the year and Anasta was injured most of the year as well. The Roosters had one of the worst packs in the comp and it showed.

Have to disagree on Covell though. He was easily the pick of our back 3 this year. That doesn't say much about the other 2 though.

Kudos when it's deserved, Twizzle. The poms played pretty well and deserved the two points. But the fact of the matter is that I dont see why blokes in the extended squad really need to get a game.

Not only does it devalue the jumper, but doesnt allow any players to form a decent combination.

I can understand it to a point. You don't want Thurston playing four games and getting injured in the last minute of the fourth with Hornby to join the side for the final.

Stuart showed he has nothing as a coach. He has the strangest selections.

Hunt has been awesome at fullback and there was no need to move him to wing when Gaz got injured. Berrigan to centre was the only option worth thinking of. The complete reshuffle of the backline for one injured player seemed over the top and caused a very poor australian attack.
