true detective is a character assessment more than anything. you wont get any big explosions or massively exciting action. its an 8 hour movie about two detectives.

Yeah I did. I watched the first couple of episodes and hated it. It's a power fantasy for rich middle aged white merkins.

ah the wire, that's the one I forgot. The Walking dead looks overrated to me, ive seen a bit of it. May watch it if I get desperate and run out of other shows to watch.

do yourself a favour and watch Breaking Bad avenger, and make sure you stick with it. First two seasons are a little bit slow.

I agree - it was a bit slow starting but really got better over time - which is quite different to alot of shows

Deadwood was great...just a pity they packed up mid-story.

Breaking Bad and The Sopranos are fu*king awesome. Boardwalk Empire isn't quite up there but it is quality also.

The Walking Dead, it has it's moments but sometimes i get bored with it.

True Detective is on my list to watch.

I finished OZ a month or so back, that one was twisted.

I hated Oz, though I only watched part of the first season. True Detective was awesome then fizzled at the end.

Hanging for the last season of Justified.

Hands down, my favourite show. Followed by Homeland.

Really looking forward to The X-Files starting up again, even if it will only be for a short series. Gillian Anderson is still one of the tastiest pieces of meat on TV.

in terms of shows still running. Honourable mentions go to Black Sails (is that coming back?), Hell on Wheels, Helix, The Walking Dead, Banshee, Tyrant, Manhattan, Ray Donovan, Veep.

I don't think anyone has mentioned The Shield, yet, in terms of completed shows that were great.

Also, I think I've said this before, but if you wanna watch a good show with your missus then go for Orange is the New Black. It's a chick show but I thoroughly enjoy it and am looking forward to Season 3 eagerly.

I saw an ad on foxtel saying watch season 1 of Black Sails before season 2 starts .... so yeah there is a season 2 apparently .... I haven't watched season 1 (just part of episode 1)

yeah orange is the new black and veep are good comedy/dramas. both abit girly but still fun to watch.

A classic boys comedy/drama must watch that id recommend is entourage.

Season two was gash but seasons three and four were excellent.

Saul Berenson is one of my favourite characters of all time, and the wife of Brody (who was in Firefly) is a f**king tasty little thing. So is Claire Danes. Doesn't have the titties but is still a good looking woman.

Peter Quinn is a great character, too. Excellent show.

Good to hear about Black Sails, too. Speaking of fine pieces of meat, that French prostitute is on my list.

Fargo with Billy Bob Thornton is excellent....The Killing is not bad either...the ending pissed me off though. I thought I must have misplaced an episode....
Better Call Saul will be finished soon....
