Im dumbfounded as to why anyone would give up a pick for Joe Flacco
I'd have taken a conditional 2030 7th round pick to just not have him on the roster

Think it was a key move though. Moves Minshew up the depth chart, and frankly he should be starting very soon
The eagles need to evaluate Sirianni, the returns on that hire so far are no great, and there is reason to think this should be a 1 and done HC, especially if a new QB is coming in... BUT it's impossible to know that when his QB simply cant play the position

Minshew is not a good NFL QB, but he is competent, he is able to pass reasonably accurately, and plays within the timing and rhythm of an offence. We need to see what this offence looks like with someone who can do that so we know if Sirianni is worth persisting with beyond this year. Can't do that with Hurts.

Curious about the trade deadline situation. I think the Eagles will be sellers, and i think Andre Dillard is a prime candidate to get dealt and maybe even Darius Slay since he no longer fits the time line of the team.

Rumour doing the rounds that we maybe making a play for Fletcher Cox.

it would certainly be a great piece for us considering we lead the league in QB pressures from the edge so just anything through the middle would be great.

but I’d want to see what we are giving up… I know Mike Mayock is a Philly dude from WAAAY back so we could well get fleeced… 😳🤦‍♂️

WEEK 8 DRAFT WATCH

Miami lose again and Jets managed a win so that is positive news. Big game next week with mimai facing Houston

On the positive side, Wentz got through the game making it 7 with 6 to go albeit an OT loss. We really wanted a win as they are now a clear 3 games behind titans. They do however play Jets and Jags next so that will hopefully keep them interested.

For the right pick, i think that makes sense
Fletch ain't what he used to be where he was 2nd only to Donald as far as DLmen go, and at times he out put was better than Donald's, but he's still a really good interior pressure player now and this Philly team is looking for picks and their time line doesnt suit him

Like Ertz, you'd say a teary goodbye and look forward to bringing him back for the Ring of Honour ceremony post career

Maimi are cooked. That's going to be a top 5 pick unless they trade for Watson, and maybe even if they do.

The Indy thing is getting dicey... they're still in the wildcard hunt but if cant start winning some damn games, and especially with Wentz throwing the 2 back breaking and game changing picks... they might have to make a decision there. But yeah, 6 games to go... you'd have to think he's going to at least get a chance to stack the Jags/Jets games... 2-0 there and they're in wildcard hunt... 4 more games after that

WEEK 9 DRAFT WATCH

Colts win and Wentz plays 100% of offensive snaps. 9 down, 4 to go. Their next opponent is Jags. Hopefully Rams win tonight to tighten that AFC south divisional race

Miami wins against Houston BUT Jags somehow beat Bills which means that pick is currently number 3. They have Ravens next followed by Jets twice in a month which will really give an indication of where that pick will land.

Feels like unless Wentz gets actually hurt, which to be frank, is still incredibly likely, that Colts pick will be a 1st where ever it falls

Thought that game was a professional loss, they played reasonably well on offence, the defence is appalling. But they acquitted themselves reasonable well

Best performance of the year this morning. Finally beat a decent side and we really dominated form start to finish making play after play on both sides of the ball. It would be nice to finally notch up a home win next week against the saints.

Our run home is Saints, @Giants, @Jets, Washington, Giants, @Washington, Cowboys

It is not outside the realm of possibility to win 5 or 6 of those which might see us jag a WC spot although I'm not sure that is in our best interests this year.

DRAFT WATCH WEEK 10

Wentz gets through another game and leads Indy past the Jags. That's 10 down, 3 to go and they are well in the WC hunt so it is looking very likely this becomes a first rounder.

f**k you Baltimore, that is all.

Think Sirianni has shown a little something in his willingness to adapt and play a different way
I still dont think Hurts is the answer but with this run heavy game style and using more roll outs, he's much better.

Smitty is legit though. My goodnes he's a stud

Another solid performance and our first home win of the season. Given the schedule, we are every chance to make a late playoff run.

It is almost certain we get the 3 first rounders now, Wentz got through another game in what was a defining win @Bills. We only need him to play 2 more games and they are right in the WC conversation and have closed the division gap as well.

Annoyingly, the Dolphins seem to have found something the last couple of weeks.

Yeah i think these picks might end up being much higher than we thought they would be
including our own

Happy with the eagles game today, coming in i was wondering if this run game thing was real... its easy to think it is given the teams we've run over, but this saints D is extremely good up front, they're the top rated rushing defence... so the question was, could the eagles keep running the football at will? Or would they be forced into a drop back pass game which we know from earlier in the season cant work with Hurts?

The answer... the eagles did whatever the hell they wanted on the ground. Make sure to twitter search Jordan Mailata sending Cameron Jordan to the ground with a one handed jab to his chest plate. And shortly there after escorting poor Marcus Davenport outta the **** venue, to such an extent that Devenport got very upset about the ride he was taken on.
Truly love to see the big aussie absolutely dominating

Defensively for the eagles, the saints were too banged up to think much about this. The Eagles dominated and the Saints couldnt move the football at all until the game was done. But without the starting QB, #1WR, Alvin Kamara, and 3 line man... that's to be expected. Dont think it says much about the Saints or Eagles on that side of the football

I thought we were getting somewhere with Sirianni but today was an absolute shit show in play calling. How hard is it to RUN THE BALL.

I can't comment on the first quarter and a half because to be honest I value my sleep more than this mess but let's analyse some drives thereafter. Last drive of the first half we start at our own 7 and end up with a 1st and goal at the 2 off the back of 10 runs in 13 plays including a TD nullified by a holding penalty. The score is 3-0 Giants at this stage with 15 seconds on the clock and one time out. They decided to dial up a pass which goes incomplete followed by a run which is stuffed at the line meaning 8 seconds left with 0 time outs. Just take the FG in that situation or trust your run game to get it done, instead we pass for an interception to end the half.

First drive of the 2nd half we start with 3 runs for 35 yards resulting in a 3rd and 2 at the NYG 40. They are very clearly going for it on 4th down if they don't convert the 3rd so what do they dial up... 2 pass plays which both go incomplete. We are averaging well over 3 yards a run at this stage and you don't trust your run game to get 2 yards in 2 plays?

3rd drive of the 2nd half starting at our own 34. 10 plays, 66 yards for a TD to bring the score to 10-7 Giants. All 66 yards come from the 9 run plays (~7 yard average) with the single pass play going incomplete. Perhaps we are on to a winning formula here?

Defence forces a 3 and out and we get the ball back at our own 35. We go 3 runs for 13 yards and a 1st and 10 at our own 48. The Giants are just not stopping the run here with the last 13 Eagles offensive snaps all being runs for 79 yards total, 6 yards average including a TD. From here the geniuses dial up 3 pass plays which results in an in-completion, a 6 yard completion and a sack forcing a punt on our own 49. What the actual f**k? I get the desire to not be predictable but there is enough variation in the run game with the zone read and the giants aren't stopping it thus far even when every man and his dog knows the run is coming. It's not as if they are forcing and 2nd or 3rd and longs. It was an absolute shitting of the bed by the offensive play callers.

From there the Giants take 6 minutes off the clock their next drive and add a FG going up 13-7 which means the pressure is now on and we have to pass and of course it all fell apart from there.

The defence was fine and every player has a right to be absolutely filthy with the offensive play callers.

Well a win is a win I suppose. It hilariously puts us a half game out of the final wildcard spot. The 2 games against Washington will decide who gets it.

Minshew was ok but apparently Hurts' spot isn't under threat.

On draft watch, Miami continue to win which is annoying. In good news the 3rd first rounder is all but confirmed. There is a scenario where we wouldn't get it but it requires Wentz to not play again and each game would need to have a fairly high number of offensive snaps.

I think all 3 of them will land in the 10-20 range.

Yeah its looking like the picks will all land in the middle range.
Which isnt bad i suppose

Very interested to see how well the offence ran with an actual pocket passer

After turnovers on our first 2 possessions leading to a 0-10 start, we steadied the ship and one the rest of the game easily 27-7 for a final of 27-17

We are a only out of the last wild card on tiebreaker at this stage. If we are in any way serious we beat the giants next week at home.

And with that win, Sf winning and MIN losing we are officially in the playoffs. Fair to say this team is ahead of schedule under a first year rookie coach. We were probably better off not making it and getting a better draft pick but with 3 first rounders we should still be able to do something.

Now that we are there though, may as well win a playoff game. It would be very nice to play Dallas IMO but if I am reading everything correctly that is an impossibility. If e win, Dallas would finish 4th and play cards/rams and if we lose then Dallas would have to finish 2nd and they don't win any tie breaker against Bucs due to head to head record so our opponent will be Rams/Cards or the Bucs.

Heading to Tampa for the wildcard game
Not expecting a win, feel like we're playing with house money

We get Davonta Smith and the 15th pick instead of Waddle
And we get the 16th pick to not pay Carson Wentz to lose a win and in game against the 2-14 jags...
Nice bit of work on both fronts there

Very likely we'll lose next week and have picks 15, 16 and 19

Don't think we will win but they will give it a red hot crack.

Just have to have the balls to keep committing to the run game, even if Brady leads TD drives with ease.

I’d be stunned if we win. But I was expecting us to finish with 4 wins so what do I know.
