They used to say Queensland would never win the Sheffield Shield, but they finally got there. I just hope that we don't have to wait as long as they did (60+ years) to win our first title.

Speaking of ashes. A guy is on death row and given the choice of being burnt alive or decapitated. He chooses being burnt and the executioner asks why? He cheerfully explains he preferred a hot stake (steak) to a cold chop.

I went to De La Salle Caringbah when the brothers were all sadistic bastards and armed themselves with heavy leather straps about 500 x 40 x 15ml. They loved dishing out punishment for trivial matters. During classes you could always hear the strap in action somewhere in the school.
