This is seriously getting scary. Piggins has got absolutely nothing and is spouting nothing but lies in the media.

If he could get $6m in sponsorship or whatever then why the hell didnt he do it 3 fscking year ago? the man is an absolute spastic yet has the gall to say that Nicholas Pappas should stand aside because he has failed????

I can see it now, if this proposal fails South Sydney are dead

To be honest, i'm sick to death of Souths. Since their reinstatement (which i supported) you barely here any positive news about the place. They are the big fat puss pimple on the forehead of Rugby League since they have been back. Let this be the final battle to get Souths on track, otherwise i think the NRL should squeeze the zit out at the next offering of licences.

As a Souths fan I can't wait for this weekend when we finally get back on the field. At the end of the day the club is there to play footy. I'm sick and tired of hearing about all of this. All I want to see is the footy.

One thing that has really impressed me is the way in which Peter Holmes-A-Court has handled the whole thing and put everything together. I still have yet to make my final decision, but know which way I am leaning towards. It is a very big decision to make. I just want to make sure I understand everything about the proposal.

I just hope that all members do vote for what they believe is the best thing for the club. Everyone has their own mind. I don't want to see people bullied into making a decision.

Poor Souths.
I don't like them but what is happening to them is just criminal.
As Seano said if Georgie could get 6 mill why not years ago?
George knows that if this proposal goes through then he is gone and he desperatly wants that little bit of power and influence.
Souths future is not with George. Only him and his blind supporters would disagree with me there.

Piggins appears to have no answer on how to resolve the Rabbitohs financial woes. So why oppose this bid? I just can't find any rational logic to his stance on the whole matter.
heres my conspiracy theory.

reaslistically the nrl would rather souths move to gosford. it gets rid of teh need to bring in a new team and keeps an old one more or less alive. john singleton also wants a team there, as i believe he owns the central coast ground or something along those lines. george piggins is mates with alan jones. alan jones works for singleton. singleton wants a team at his stadium there for all the anti holmes acourt stuff on 2gb. if the proposal was to go through, there would be no chance of souths relocating there unless the members voted on it. and that wouldnt happen in my opinion.
if the proposal fails, pappas and richardson will resign, and george wil beable to run for the board of the football club, or get a person he wants as chairman of the board. if he gets control again, souths will relocate to gosford, singleton and the nrl are happy because they have a central coast team. piggins then has 8 million to feed into souths leagues club, which he believes is south sydney.

thats why i think piggins is opposing it. he cant let his leagues club slip into oblivion, so hes trying to gain control of south sydney again. so he gathers all the old coots, old players and alan jones and the like to get in the media and bring the proposal down.

"Pride of the League" is another. I don't know what League they are talking about, but it's certainly not the NRL.

I wish Souths supporters all the best. As a WT supporter i've known some bad times too, although nothing that has had the life span of your circus.

If Souths relocated to the Central Coast it'd be a lose-lose situation. Another foundation club would lose its' identity and the Bears would become virtually extinct. I did laugh out loud at Piggins' comment on the failings of Nick Pappas, though.

There's definitely something about Souths that makes people feel sorry for 'em though...if this was almost any other Sydney club (and you can throw in the Broncos too) people would think it was a great joke.

I understand your point, but for the South Sydney football club i feel no sorrow. I want them gone. I am so sick of the circus it's time it left town!!!! I just feel sorry for the supporters who have had to put up with the inability of all these celebs for the last few years to build a club that is all heading in 1 direction. You know who they are, i don't need to rattle off names, but they all made a lot of noise for reinstatement.

Souths NRL side (or more so the behind the scene politics) has been nothing short of digraceful since their re-admittance. It's rare for me to make multiple posts in 1 thread, but i feel that strongly about the crap this clubs admin has brought on our game, i've quite simply reached the limit. Even the Bulldogs with horrendous allegations against them, made the pain short lived. With Souths it's the never ending story. To all Souths members, take a friggin stand and UNITE your club, the only other option is to fold, but FFS get rid of that boring old diehard (loyal yes but a blowfly on the lip of rugby league fans) Piggins. Give the rest of us a break.......we deserve it.

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How many Souths fans on this forum are eligable to vote and if you don't mind sharing - which side are you on?

Being a Knights supporter I understand how difficult it is to see you club financially struggling but surely when it comes to survival of your club its up to the every day joe average to take some action and do his/her best to ensure the survival of something you love.

All the best Souths fans.

That's one step in the right direction. Seriously, Piggins accusing someone else of inept management is like a KKK Grand Dragon calling Pauline Hanson a racist.

Im a voting member and im all for the holmes-a-court proposal, as are most other members i have spoken too. Scary thing is yesterday, i recieved in the mail a letter from George Piggins asking me to sign my voting rights to him via proxy. It was full of bullsh*t propoganda and had a printed copy of the telecraps back page with the picture of the souths legends all saying they were in favour of george.
The 75% is going to be a real struggle with the amount of people that buy into his crap and have a postage paid envelope and the endorsment of a handful of club legends to encourage this proxy, im hoping to god there can be some sort of open debate set up between the two parties for members to attend before the election, so some of the more naive members can hear the true word spoken in person and wont be swayed by lies and deceit.
