The best thing about the 9s

People will criticise it because it wasn't perfect. Anything that could be better draws criticism, doesn't it?

I enjoyed what I saw but it could be a little better. And that should be the goal.

The best thing you have ever done could still have been done better

First of all, lets congratulate ourselves on a job well done and then consider what might be an improvement. For a fast paced game with 9 minutes each way, no video refs was the right call.

No point holding things up - constant movement leads to points. The less stoppages in a game like this the better

I'm a fan.

Seeing a Perth born and bred player scoring the Winning trys. Great result for our jnr development programme.

Great event and very enjoyable 16 hours of watching RL!

a trophy and 370k, also keeping a perfect record against Brisbane in finals matches

I thought it was brilliant watching, probably got the worse of it injury wise but considering the exact same thing could have happened in a trial in mackay that id have to read about the next day it's part of football.

Great being able to get a good look at rona and santo for us, would be likewise for many other fans with the rookies at their clubs.

Cons - lost count of forward passes missed, the pace of it and no video ref was always going to be a few wrong calls but some of these were total shockers.

I'm converted, would rather see a mix of SL/NRL and international teams but I've really enjoyed the speed and format of the games and the crowd looks great fun.

Is there a reason the event isn't going after dark? I would have thought a later start with last hour under lights would add to the spectacle?

The sun doesn't go down until like 9pm in NZ in summer. The final was on over there at 7.30pm which is pretty standard for finals. If you wanted people to attend and stay you can't have the final at 9.30pm

I really enjoyed it. Great weekend of footy & nice to see the Cowboys win something. I hope it isn't a flash in the pan.

Great defence, scintillating tries & a chance for youngens to show their wares on the big stage.

Overall it is a great concept, with every team on show.

I liked that they removed some of the rules, the forward pass rule was clearly one that was removed, although it would have been nice if they told us before the tournament started. :sarcasm:

Really enjoyed it, great to see a good fan turnout and I hope they can carry it on. I liked the mix of established players and younger guys joining the team, honestly this style of play may even suit the younger guys a bit more it was a bit closer to U20s. If I had to change one thing i'd look at making it a 3 day event, with Sunday being the finals day.
