The Better Burgess

He will be battling with Elliot for the wing spot. He didn't come from the UK to play for Wyong. If he performs well at training and the trials he will jag a spot. He is seriously quick, has great awareness just needs to cut out the errors and learn to get involved to help us get our famous roll going, but hey, that is a Rooster thing a bumbling outside back. :p

Joe Burgess will probably play on the right wing, to give Daniel Tupou the chance to hold the left wing.

Unfortunately, though he is fast Joe will not be fast enough to catch Bevan French. On the other hand, French will not get selected in the NRL first 17 for Parramatta, so Joe Burgess won't have to chase him.

Joe Burgess scored two tries for the Roosters against Souths. He was the only Roosters try scorer. But he was caught out of position in defence a couple of times, and that led to tries by Souths.

How's he been going since round 1? I see he wasn't named in the line up for Friday, has he been dropped or is he injured? Been abroad for rounds 2-5 so haven't kept up with other teams really.

He's been biding his time in NSW Cup. I haven't watched his games but his defence supposedly needs to get up to scratch. Have heard there are plans to bring him back into the side during the latter half of the season when he's improved his game

Seems pretty quiet in here lately.

I thought they'd still be a bit of discussion.

But oh well.

Should be a tough one on Friday. I expect the Roosters to be really fired up.

Let's hope it's enjoyable to watch with no injuries.

It's not as if a few others in the team have their defense up to scratch. Our right edge worries me immensely. But I have heard the same thing, Burgess will get a run later in the year once he gets his fitness up and his ability to read and react in defense improves.

It's pretty quiet here, all I see are tumbleweeds. The Chookpen site has been pretty quiet today as well, but always comes to life after a loss lol.

Hope your right about the Chooks turning up against your mob. I am a bit worried about the short turn around, anyway hoping for a good game and maybe we can turn the tables but that is not likely.

We desperately need our pack to fire and not to give your mob a mountain of possession like we did in round one, then it could get interesting.

We've been sharing a win a piece these last few seasons so maybe we'll come good.
