I am actually thinking that it was a deliberate plan to throw every pass in the shield to the left into the ground ... leiula/widdop were all doing it ...
obviously a cunning plan.

We started well in 2017 because we started the season completely under the radar as everyone wrote us off. The power game worked for first 7 rounds but it cannot be sustained for a whole season and rigours of NRL. Hopefully the coaching staff have an alternative to last year. Hunt maybe? But is that enough!

Im hearing Josh Mansour is open to offers. With money left in our cap and with Dugan and Thompson going we should make a big play.

Absolutely.

The Dogs should be a cautionary tale on being over reliant on your big forwards and the power game. Teams will find ways to shut you down and if you have no Plan B (like us and the Dogs under Hasler) then you’re pretty much screwed.

A good forward pack needs to be complemented with slick fast backs that can take advantage of compressed defences. This works the other way as well, as fast backs opens up the middle for our forwards to roll up field.

Defences are too good these days to be totally reliant on just one part of your game.
