If this rumour does come true... I would like to see the trading period of players kept to the end of the season for players of contract t the end of that current season. They dont need this BS where you can sign a player 2 years in advance crap and they need tie to relocate the family...

It's not the first story to pop up over the past few months about some tension between Buderus and Smith.
Where there's smoke, there's fire.
What's the betting that if Buderus leaves, it won't be long before Smith isn't there either. And maybe it won't be Smiths choice.

Newcastle won't release Bederus, their sponsors and supporters will tear the joint down if they grant him a release but i have no doubt in my mind that he wants to POQ.

I think we need marquee players and more experienced players. Beuderus will be good, if he comes to EELS. Same with Andrew Ryan. We cannot win comp with only kids. We need players who can guide the younger bunch.
It will be good if u we can get Ryan Back in Parra.

Interesting about the issue of Bedsy leaving Newcastle in 2009, and what might happen re Smithy then... I'd say after the clean-out in his first year, the Knights board will want to see some results (ie making the finals, being in the top 6) before they could stomach the flak they'd get from letting Bedsy go to England from 2009 onward. Otherwise Smithy may become the scapegoat for that at the end of his second season?
