The Bunker

I thought the bunker was brilliant. All credit to the NRL decisions were sooo mu h quicker and the multiple angles worked great. Also I think not being at the ground stops any subconscious influence from the crowd.

NRL doesen't always get it right but onto big winner especially how quick it was as the game keeps moving. Also like the intro of the shot clocks and the reduced interchange.

Hopefully we can get back to something like the great quick footy we saw in 2005

I think it went pretty well, the 4 simultaneous cameras was a little jarring at first because you can't decide where to look for the best angle, but it didn't take long to get used to. The Oates no try I actually agree with, I reckon he just bounced it like Lebron.

Only one game but was a fan of it. The decisions were made fast and without fuss. No doubt when a decision is made against the majority people will detest it for being an expensive waste but that is just rugby league reality.

Jennings is having a whinge over it. He seems like the only one:

MICHAEL Jennings is no fan of the NRL bunker.
But at least now he knows it exists.
Despite making history in Thursday’s NRL season opener — as the first player ever to have a try decided, and denied, by bunker — the new Parramatta centre still reckons $2 million worth of technology got it wrong.

Parramatta's Michael Jenningss was denied a try and penalised for a double movement against the Broncos on Thursday. Picture: Gregg PorteousAnd, sure, that puts him in the minority.
Yet while social media was overwhelmingly supportive of the Jennings ‘No Try’ decision against Brisbane, ruled a double movement, the man himself still reckons the effort was good.
“I thought it was a try,” Jennings said. “I wouldn’t have got up celebrating otherwise.
Must not be a fan of the bunker then?

“It’s funny, half my body was over the tryline so I don’t know (how they reached the decision).
“They did slow it down which didn’t help. Slowing the camera down ... aren’t they looking for the momentum?”
So no fan of the bunker then?

Yeah it's a lot quicker and it looks like they will make a lot less mistakes. One of the best innovations in the game for a long time.

I am enjoying the speed in decision making. But I am sure they will get some crucial decisions wrong at some point.

Yeah I'm happy with all the decisions so far
Even with that Tafua try, I probably would have said no try myself but when you hear them explain it and the rationale they used to make the decision, it's easier to understand where they are coming from and in the end I thought "50/50 call, they explained themselves well, fair play"

what for and who are you?

I'm just one of many people who like to chuckle at the fact you're a closet AFL fan. Us normal people just laugh at it and don't give it a second thought, whereas you seem to have devoted your life to tracking it.

Anyway, I'll let you get back to scouring the dandenong daily.
