Well 5 games into the season and what has happened, we are looking worse then last year, and the difference last year the people were wanting andos head this year nothing Raper must perform, if by mid season we havent one half our games, then we must reconsider his contract hopefully we have get out clause, as Raper just sits and watches the game no emotion win or lose, look at Ricky Stuart his team were losing to Broncos and he was so into the game we are losing to teams struggling and Raper doesnt seem to care, Hope he shos morew when we play the big guns or maybe Raper will nto be at the club long

last year we lost 7 in a row with our best team :?

1 from 5 isn't a good start. But Raper has fixed some areas and we just have to get everyone on the park and put it all together.

Dumb call SSIB68
Anderson had the Sharks 2 years & took us to where we are now.
Raper has had them 5 games & I think has improved them.
for instance.
He said he would address discipline.
Tonight was our most disciplined performance since Anderson arrived.

Give Raper ago he deserves that.... I'm more upset with the effort shown by the team.
I don't care if we win or lose, but lose admirably. That effort was crap tonite.

At least last year we beat the crap sides, not got lapped by them at home.

Yes we have injuries at the moment but I was very concerned with the lack of enthusiasm, commitment and the game plan that gave us f%^k all in the way of line breaks against one of the lesser teams in the comp.

The simple facts of tonight is we never looked in the hunt.

PJ, I know we turned a lot of possesion over, but those turnovers were on the back of a lot of defense.
the Sharks broke the 300 mark tonight & with 15 1/2 players we were always going to struggle & cope with a poor feild position( Another thread soon on Kimmorleys kicking game).
In the end I thing possession finished at an incredible 70/30!!!

THat's fine Blacky but our attack all night was pedestrian at best.

Plenty of times we couldn't even get the ball outside our own quarter before the kick.

We couldn't break the line.

There was little to no passion.

There was little to no enthusiasm

There was little to no commitment.

Being at the ground there was also little to no atmosphere.

reading the remarks generalzod, so you are happy if we try hard and lose, well last time i looked trying hard and lsoing does not win the comp, and that attitude should never be accepted at our club, i can imagine management and Arsenal or Man Utd for example being told the players tried hard but lost and are running 2nd last, yes you are right the coach would be GONE.
PJ love those comments yes we have injures at the moment, understood and now would be the right time to play the roosters as they have many more out for us and should be easy pickings, but i have a gut feeling they would dig a lot deeper then us

Yep PJ you're right we lost that when Ando dumped Deano and until he is reinstated we will not have that passion.

BRING BACK DEANO

PJ love those comments

I don't.

It breaks my heart to write them, but at the moment, and based on the 2 games I've been to in the last couple of weeks we have an unenthusiastic, disorganised and frequently ill-disciplined rabble.

They are good enough to make the eight I believe but they aren't good enough to give the other sides much more more of a start.

I agree Raper needs time and no pressure on his job.

However.....he definately has a way better team to work with than the previous coach.

The thing that worry's me about Raper is that he has a thing for McGoldrick and to me blind freddy can see he is no where near first grade material at the moment.

The other thing that worry's me is that he keeps picking Isemonger in the 17. On what basis???

If he doesn't realise Hilder is not a 5/8 soon I will really start to get worried.

But the big thing that worry's me is that the backline has hardly shone for us this year apart from 45minutes in the Manly game. (Who are currently last on the table). When you see the ball going wide it looks very disjointed and no one knows who's going where?

He certainly needs to get some more enthusiasm out on the field. To do this maybe he should put some of those fearless younger blokes in the pack like Newton, Green, Dumas or Vagg.

Beattie,Isemonger,Bosnich are looking like tired hasbeens!

I made the call last week & said that we were'nt fit.
I'm not backing away from that. I think we are either drained(flat) or unfit.
I'm sure it was noticeable at the ground the first 5 after half time? Williams break? All of a sudden there was a noticeable higher step & heads up by everyone. It didn't last long however. & by the time Vagarnarina did his stuff nobody had anything.
however, a couple more defensive weeks like that two things will happen
1. f**k we wil be fit!!
2. The boys will treat the ball like its the last virgin ever on earth.

I have complained about Cronulla's performance from the very 1st round.

Reefy in the last two weeks the sharks have had to make over 100 tackles(Atleast) than the opposition. That really makes you flat. I don't think the problem is fitness, I think it is enthusiasm. Which is why Newton is needed. His massive and he loves doing the work. He really lifted the team when he played last year.

How many times does Dean Treisters name come up many more the it needs to be, he would nto have won us the game tonite, i could understand everyone wanting him back if a) he was a rep player or b) won us a comp he did neither he was a first grade player no more and no less

Deano wouldnt of won it for us tonight...

You're a young dude Lolesi and I like your comments but I reckon if Deano had played he would have topped the tackle count and topped the take-ups and topped the....well he would have topped everything because he WAS the top of everything Cronulla

I can't agree with the enthusiasm assessment.
On TV you can see it in their eyes. They are trying very very hard.
On trying hard, actually I will start another thread on it, f**k it was funny.
