I wonder which one of you Bring back Deano w@nkers are Treister himself. You idiots have to be on drugs, He spent the best part of 2001 in reserve grade because he was playing like a sheila and was dropped by Anderson because he wouldn't play to the coaches instructions. Top that off with the petty whinging display he put on in the sunday paper after he was punted (Nick Graham was at least a man about it). Treister was a first grade footballer who could have good games and bad games, turn up on the day or dog it like the rest of them. This Deano and passion crap is rewriting of an average history.
Well as stated by my age in a previous thread I ain't DT and obviously Wa.... you ain't. What I will say if any of our current players had the pride in their guensey as Deano did the sharks wouldn't be where they are this year(last) and if they had the passion Deano had we may have lost the games we have BUT we wouldn't have been humiliated like we have. This team is a disgrace to every team(sharks) that Cronulla have put on the field since I have supported them(1973),there is no pride or passion by a majority of the players. Phil Bailey...phtt...send him packin and give Deano some of that money.
Passion dosen't win footy games unfortunatley. Skill is what wins games and we dont have any despite Anderson's short comings he did sign some players with some skill Kimmorley, Vags, etc. However they aren't playing too full potential, it is only early but they've shown very little.
I feel Raper maybe on borrowed time yes he hasn't performed well but i didn't think he was anything but a stop gap solution god he was rejected in 2001 for the job and now only sees himself in the job cos someone got the boot. The board or Rogers need to work out what there going to do, Wait till the end of the year, sack him immediatley, hire new coach for 2005 to have a chance to rebuild and get aquainted while Raper sees out this season, or support him.
I dont think we should sack him and throw some else straight in it could be damaging. We could let him see out the season, but i think say round 12 if the players aren't performing under Raper then we should sign a new coach for 2005. Get him in a hands on roll communicating and providing input to Raper, experimenting players so he wont need to in 2005 maybe get himself to create his list and sign players he wants so were ready to rumble come round 1 next year. Then we would have a head start on a fresh start which would be quite handy.
