I wanted them to do a standalone sequel to Man Of Steel as well. But I am excited about seeing what they will do with this one. There have been some decisions that I think may be questionable, but not having read the script or have any knowledge of the production it is hard for me to poo-poo everything.

I'll wait until I hear some details about the actual production and how things will tie in together. Maybe after I see a trailer I can make up my mind a bit easier.

Springs, it does seem like you aren't going to like this movie no matter how it turns out. You've already made up your mind about it.

didn't take much to get a bite there did it haha

i have rather enjoyed most of the marvel films the way they have done it is awesome and i doubt will be ever beaten (capt 2 was a incredible film)
but for myself i have been a superman/batman since i can remember and i just wanna see them do it right and not just copy the marvel formula.
really hoping for a shazzam or hawkman film down the line

some of you might remember Justice League went into production in 2007 but was quickly shut down (thank god)

anyway only 3 weeks till days of future past cant wait for it especially with singer back directing

At what? 2 films?

Of course it doesn't have to be done the same way as Marvel. The point is they are doing all this just to compete with The Avengers. So they are rushing every character possible to make a Justice League film as quickly as possible. That's the bad part about it. Not that they aren't doing the exact same method as Marvel.

For example, introducing Wonder Woman in a movie about Superman and Batman. Where is she going to fit? Is it going to have her origin story? Is she just going to appear out of nowhere? Or just a cameo? Wonder Woman should have her own movie.
Then, there's Batman. Rebooting Batman so soon after his last movies just screams 'rushed'. Especially considering he will be introduced as the secondary character in Superman's movie.
Then of course there' the fact they have about 3 movies worth of cast members shoved in. Not to mention some of the awful casting, that looks like most of the characters will be 'reinterpreted' instead of being their classic roles (Gadot, Eisenberg especially).
And at the same time they have TV shows about Green Arrow, Flash and Gotham that they don't seem to have a clue whether or not it will tie in.

And I really don't get why Superman and Batman have to fight.

It's clear they didn't have a plan when they rebooted Green Lantern and Superman. Then when those movies were received poorly-mediocre it seems they suddenly thought 'oh shit, Marvel's way out in front, we have to do something quick!'

The point is they shouldn't be worrying about Marvel. Try and improve on Man of Steel first, then worry about Batman, Wonder Woman and the rest.
My god you are making a lot of assumptions regarding this movie. A hell of a lot

The only assumptions I made in that post were that they didn't have a plan at the start of these reboots and the re-interpretations of characters, which is hardly an assumption as Eisenberg is nothing like the traditional Lex Luthor and will almost certainly play him a different way than usual.
So that's 2 assumptions at a stretch. If 2 is 'a hell of a lot' for you then you must say 'a hell of a lot' a lot.

Trailer for the new tv series Gotham. Its hard not to get your hopes up

Hmm. So it seems that this series will be based on Jim Gordon and the days before Bruce became Batman.

I'm indifferent. I'll watch and hope it's good. If it's as good as Arrow is right now, I'll be quite happy.

Smallville, Arrow, Gothem, The Flash. A decent selection of DC shows.

I feel that DC is akin to Star Trek. Will always have it's core fan support which will ensure a certain level of viewership, but will constantly be criticized and labeled "uncool".

It's half Gotham Central, half Batman Babies. The Gotham PD part looks quite good. The shoehorning of young Batman villains (like Catwoman and Poison Ivy as kids) not so much.

I'd like to see Gordon take on Falcone's mob, not a tall, skinny handsome penguin and some gangster called Fish Mooney.

Hardly surprising but yeah, major changes being made for the Preacher TV show. I'm sure writing genius Seth Rogen knows how to improve on the original..

I can only hope Preacher is good but I can't see it working as a TV show. Just like the rumors of The Dark Tower series. the story is just way too in depth. But I would have said the same about The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones and both of those have worked out to be awesome

the Gotham TV show looks like it has potential. hopefully Gordon is bad ass as per Batman: Year One that was released in the past couple of years.

They need to bring Garth Ennis in for it. Part of the reason Walking Dead and Game of Thrones has been successful has been because the original authors have a big say in them. Walking Dead has veered off in completely new directions but a lot of that was Kirkman's doing.
I don't even like Rogen's comedy, I have no faith in him bringing a comic series to TV.

The showrunner for Gotham has arrogantly come out and said it will blow the Dark Knight movies out of the water, so he better have something good to back up that statement with.

Lets see. Inclusive of the above there was:

Trying to compete with avengers
Rushing ?every? character
Batman being a secondary character
Awful casting
WW being reinterpreted
Not having a clue about TV tying in with movies
Batman and Supes fighting at all

Thats a lot in my books

I saw a preview of X-MEN last night.

A little messy but quite good.

Some Cameos and attempts to right some wrongs of previous movies.

Up there with first class and X2 imo.

- They purposely put the release date back to compete with a marvel movie. Not an assumption. Not to mention DC is always competing with Marvel.
- The characters are rushed. What's not to get about that?
- They've said this is Superman's movie. Batman is the secondary hero in it.
- That's an opinion, not an assumption.
- They have said they don't know if it will yet. Not an assumption. The Gotham one definitely isn't tying in.
- It's called Batman VS Superman. They have already said they will fight: http://www.theguardian.com/film/2013/nov/11/batman-vs-superman-man-of-steel-2-fight

I made two assumptions. Try harder mate.

It's not officially called Batman vs Superman. No official title has been released.

On Snyder's twitter he posted this

- No, they didnt and no where has this been mentioned
- You are assuming they are being rushed. You have no idea how long this has been planned for
- Its a DC movie, not specifically Superman. Its certainly a follow on from Man of Steel but Avengers was a follow on from other Marvel movies but you couldnt call Ironman, Hulk or Thor "secondary"
- Again, you have no idea what the overall plan is. Just because they havent released any details yet does not mean they haven't already made plans
- Maybe, but we still have no idea what the extent of this means. Its likely not to be much
