Reynolds is a very good actor and Deadpool is right in the sweet spot of where his strongest talents lie.

I think there's no chance of Reynolds failing, the director and writers on the other hand...

Sounds like Jon Bernthal's Punisher is being so well received by the people at Marvel and Netflix that they're going to give him his own series

I have a question...

If Disney owns Marvel studios then how do the X Men flicks (the newer ones being made) and Deadpool fit in? Do Disney just let 20th Century Fox distribute these films or did they only buy the rights to The Avengers characters?

Fox completely own the rights to X-Men and Fantastic 4, and won't let Marvel/Disney have anything to do with them as they're worth too much money to Fox. Marvel can't even use the word 'mutant'. Hence the massive push to make the Inhumans mainstream.

Sony own rights to Spider-Man and his related characters, but thanks to a deal struck last year Marvel are free to use Spider-Man in the MCU, and he'll make his first appearance in Civil War in May. Conversely, Marvel will have heavy input in the new Spider-Man movie that Sony are making

Was better then what we've seen from Superman vs Batman
But from a non-comic reader the trailer seems to be copying guardians of the galaxy a bit
-catchy 80s music
- a rag tag team of misfits as 'heroes'
- meeting up in a prison
- the wisecracks and one liners

It's interesting how quickly peoples opinions and expectations for a movies can change over 1 trailer. The first trailer for Dawn of Justice left people uninspired, but the second people were wowed, followed by the third and let down again.

The first SS trailer alot of people were meh, now it's awesome.

Also interesting that Dawn of Justice is the measuring stick.

I definitely got that impression too. Iconic old school music, humourous team of rag-tag anti-heroes etc.

Still, I'm excited to see the film and judge it on its own merits. The trailer definitely added to my interest, as the initial hype reel was a bit too dark and serious for my liking.

I didn't get a GG vibe at all tbh

SS and GG are very different comics so I expect whatever similarities to be chalked up to what studios want to use to hook audiences these days when putting out a trailer rather than the actual movies being similar.

Each to their own though

I can't think of other examples, but I somehow doubt that GG was the first to use humor and catchy 80s music in their trailer.

This SS trailer got the right feel for how this movie should be portrayed. It suits the characters. It's how they've always been. I wish they did that with Superman. The contrast of Superman vs Batman would have been cool if Superman was still portrayed with wonder and hope, not the brooding character he is in DoJ.
