Actually Joe, I reckon Ranatunga got under the pommies skins more.

He threatened to walk off in one match and Alex Stewart was heard saying words to the effect, 'You're a disgrace to your team and your captaincy'
- Stewart was echoing what most people already thought.

Sure Ranatunga made some dumb shit comments about Australians being convicts (he was using this to elevate his political career in Sri Lanka), but mostly he was just considered a fat fool who called for a runner every time he got tired.
