The crowd was soft today!

My second tigers game for the year, the other one was the dogs game last week. However i was very dissapointed in the lack of passion showed by the crowd today. The ground announcer tried the "tigers" chant quite a few time but nobody would have a bar of it. I thought in the second half when we had multiple sets on the eels line that the crowd would get behind the team. Nope we just sat there like stunned mullets lie it was a dream. I hope the crowd against Manly was more passionate than that. I was unimpressed. Also in the first half when parra had a few sets on our line the crowd was silent with no cheering. What do we need to get excited? A premiership????????????

GET BEHIND THE BOYS, im so proud of the team

I thought the crowd was reasonably boisterious from where I was sitting. Im just glad we gotb a full house if wed had that game at Campbelltown I wonder how many we would have got maybe 10,000.

Only 4 games at Leichardt what a joke!

Agreed with the original post. I was in the South east corner. If not for half a dozen blokes behind me it would've been worse.

Good win and good crowd figure though.

u are probably right there was a time when we should of been chanting but it seems the tigers fans want to watch the attack quietly and then reward the players when they score or doing something great when they score they get a great rev up that would last with the players for a while and we are not parrots that chant when a bloody announcer says TIGERS TIGERS TACKLING TIGER ???? thats ordinary some teams fans are different ! great 2 be back at leichardt!

Dont worry people!

Remember alot of these people are just fans who havn't been to a tigers game for a few years and have forgotten how to cheer!

And from where i was (with the flags above the toilet) the noise was pretty good. Ive heard better, but it wasn't bad at all!

I think the game dictated how the crowd was going to act.

Parra were pathetic. Once the scoreline ballooned the players put the cue back on the rack and the crowd put there voice away for another day.

Just because we dont shout doesnt mean we are not passionate or supportive.

The Manly game, the crowd knew the boys needed something.....today, the boys were never in doubt, and as Gr8-1 said...theres something about cheering against a pathetic opposition. from where we were in front of the stand a couple of tigers cahnts went up but it sounded like both sides of the field were out of sync

Me and my brother were in the opposite side of you standing in the north west corner and I can tell you we were saying the same thing!
No chanting or nothing what so ever, the only chant that was loud was when Kingy walked past us with 4 cans of beer in his hands after coming from the beer bar beside the stand and he almost blew my ears out by yelling"GO THE TIGES"and the game had'nt even started yet.

i was sittin on 40 m line hillside and it was pretty loud where i was, though it wasnt as much as manly thats true but as said, its up to the game we were always going to win and we didnt need to lift team but i wouldnt say the crowd was soft.

I think it was a bit of nervous crowd there for a while.

Just alot of build up and expecting the boys to win

The 30 minutes before halftime it was very quiet, but there wasnt much to cheer about as the game was played constantly down there end

Leichhardt Rocks!

Without doubt a crowd tends to be a little less vocal when there is no fear of losing a game from the outset as we were in a commanding position from the start of the whistle.
But I was a tad dissapointed, that at stages I was starting to chant and it was almost embarrasing when there was no one backing me up!

But then again I was chanting and cheering when the game had already finished, and it was 6.45p.m and im sure that might have had something to do with it.But still that's no excuse.

Sounded like it was pretty loud for the first half on TV. Second half was quiet though... The team work got a bit messy, players got greedy and I think it didn't deserve much cheering.

so true, i was on the try line in the north eastern corner and even when covell scored in front of us there was nothing except one a bloke trying a tigers chant and it failing

i will agree after 10 minutes the crowd got nervous about us blowing the lead

My thoughts exactly. The game was never really in doubt.I dont know about others but i was pretty relaxed sitting on the hill.

I was on the hill near halfway in front of the scoreboard, but I just didn't feel like being too loud after we got to 12-0. Good win though. I'll save my voice for when the Tiges need it.

I was going to post something about the crowd too....
We couldn't get over the large crowd that came with no voice. one of my lot had to start a raiders chant to help wake them up..
It felt like the large crowd was waisted! :sleeper:

I'm glad we were not the only ones that thought the crowd was quite :-k

Yeah i think there were a few reasons for the slightly less vocal crowd:

1.Firstly, as g8_one said, the game really dictated the crowds performance, many of us simply sensed it was a walk in the park, the team got its reward from the crowd , after tries and so on.

2. secondly i felt a sense of tenseness early on in the game, even at 12-0 up. It was a very crucial game for us, going for 3 in a row, satarting favourites, there was a real feel of tenseness for a while the crowd i thought could obviously sense the importance of the game.
