From the outside the whole thing looks to be an utter shambles. Boxing themselves in so there is simply no room what so ever for any grandstand expansion on all sides of the ground, always thought the place will just end up as a few more blocks of apartments anyway.
If we sold it what would we get back ya reckon?

Wonder if we could take a chunk of change to the gov and do a joint new stadium centre of excellence elsewhere in the Shire. Is that the goal?

No idea of the value but you'd like to think some forward planning has been done as it's hard to see us staying there long term. Going to the SFS full time cannot be an option either I reckon.

this was what I was sort of getting at in my other post. If we sell it, can we use the money to put in to a new stadium?

I still reckon one of the best plans would have been to build a multi use rectangular stadium on the Sutherland oval site or land nearby. Not as if Sutho oval gets used much these days

Build it properly with multiple access gates. Close to train station and convert the old SUS club into the leagues club.
Plenty of parking within walking distance. Everyone else on the trains

Frenzy.

Waratah Oval site would be even better IMO. There'd be room for a training ground, COE, Stadium. 2 train stations close enough.

What ever happened to that plan the A League had? Couldn't the Sharks partner up in something like that?

realistically theres not gonna be a sutherland oval stadium, or waratah oval. we are gonna be where we are gonna be

if we sold the land off etc, you wouldn't get the money back to build a new stadium.

we are where we are.
so gotta improve the facilities like toilets, food vendors etc

i dont believe football was at all considered with the development build TBH

Our only option is for the NRL to play the long game and purchase and build their own stadium.

They may not have to wait that long.
The place is a white elephant.
Transport is non existent, facilities shot to bits and a capacity of 12000 something.
Embarrassing.
The idea for Sutherland or Loftus is a a decent option.
For anyone walking home in the pouring rain last Sunday home game will attest, the experience of game day is more dreadful.

far out it was shit. Few recent shit walks out of there. The only good thing about it was that the kids didn’t come, so I didn’t end up with one in each arm on the walk back in the rain.

Okay I’m sounding dramatic and overblown, but seriously back in days before we won a premiership, the transport was pretty good. I get it, punters would have gone into the club for beers, but currently it really is pissy

I was warning about the shitness of the design in relation to stadium improvement since the start. It is dreadful and an own goal.

I'd say once the club is back open they will run a bus(multiple) to the station. It isn't a huge walk but I get it isn't ideal for everyone.

My opinion for the 3 f**ks it is worth is they will never move. They will have a 15k stadium there for a long time. It is what it is. The only way you could fit more in is connecting the grand stands but I have no idea how you would do that and have people still move around/buy food etc.

Only thing I will say is I am sure there is a plan. Banking on funding sure but a plan none the less.
