The above statement can't be argued with on face value. You have also said that our squad is just not good enough. At what stage does the coach become accountable for the squad we have?

I think you misinterpreted my question. I was saying that if the squad is not up to standard, then the coach (as someone with a major say in recruitment) is in part responsible for this.

we ended up with darren mapp a reject and ben ross a reject and tevita latu and ben pomeroy.

the latter two will be worthy buys, ross well we will have to see if he is a worthy replacement for stevens, personally i think he would need to improve markedly.

tell me the last really good player cronulla unearthed either as a local junior or a junior bought in from another area, over decades our recruitement is pathetic, be prepared for more of the same in coming years unless the board is rissoled!!!
