The fact that Parramatta is in the grand final on Sunday is proof to me that the NRL's finals system is wrong.

Put simply, the Eels shouldn't even be there. And the reason they are is because of a big fault in the McIntyre Top Eight.
The McIntyre system has been hit with criticism this season, all of which misses the point. It's not the "Top Eight" part that's the problem.
That's just too many teams.
I know why it exists - and it's everything to do with revenue and nothing to do with what's best for footy.

Apparently there were about 75,000 people last Friday who disagree with that moronic statement. What could be better for the game than the fans from all teams knowing that sides are still in with a chance even if they have a poor start to the season. You say they should start the comp in July. WTF? By your own words they may as well have the GF in July because according to you whichever team is in front at the halfway mark should go on to win. Mate I`ve heard some idiots prattle crap in the 50 years that I have been watching this game but you are up there with the dumbest of them. I agree with the guy - eight-team finals is a joke. Should be five, IMO. But having said that, Parramatta thoroughly deserve to be where they are. They are playing within the current system and they've got to where they are on their own merits.
Also, a lot of non-Parra fans seem to think that Parramatta only started 'putting in' about twelve weeks ago. That simply isn't true. Parramatta players were trying their guts out from very early on in the season. The effort was always there. Took a while for the team and the coach to gel. They nearly won uite a few games before they actually clicked. They've actually been very consistent performers all year. They DESERVE to be there. GO PARRA.

Well the only fair way to decide the competion and silence the whingers, who cant get over the fact that their team didnt have the stones to stand up and be counted when it mattered, is to make it a knockout comp. You lose your out. The season will only last for 4 weeks though and then all the clubs will go broke and fold, but hey it will be fair. Yeah right.

The only fault with the McIntyre system is that St. George and the Titans didn't play at home the 2nd week of the finals. This idea that the Eels don't deserve a final spot is ludicrous. This Wollongong hick has been smelling the abestos in his tin shed again.
