You guys know already that Bellamy won't fire up at all, everything that happened tonight was deserved

The NRL made an error with the time but that wouldn't have changed the result

Yeah those 2 being off for an extra minute wasn't going to help us.

We were f**king terrible.

Last time there was a timekeeper f**k up, I’m thinking Souths vs Tigers playing one full 10 minute period of golden point instead of 2 x 5 minute periods in 2004, the NRL simply said “we were wrong, our bad” and left it at that.

Probably exactly what will happen here.

I'm certain there was an issue a while back in a Cronulla game where the team they were playing scored, and the clock didn't move for something like 40 seconds.

I remember Gallen protesting to the ref. It may have been a finals game against the Cowboys at the SFS.

What was the score when it happened? 6-4? I'm leaning toward giving Melbourne a point, because who knows what could've happened in those two minutes or so.

I also think, in the interest of transparency from here on in, a sin bin clock goes up on the scoreboard that is tied to the rules of the game, and the main ref, bunker, and timekeeper must agree that a player can return.

Manly shouldn't be punished.

Edit: I might just take the last point back...

NRL head of media has just released a statement saying sin bin timings are the responsibility of the clubs although in this case "neither club supplied such an official".

This should get interesting

From what it sounds like to me, neither Manly nor Melbourne supplied one. So the NRL provide the official. It's still an NRL f**k up as far as I can see.

Manly are going to lose their points here. Apparently if the away team does not provide a timing official, they then have to accept the timing of the home official who complained straight away.
