2 bids.

One bid, the Gold Coast have:
1. No name;
2. No stadium;
3. Need $50 million!
4. No decison on a location for a potential stadium!;
5. Enough money for 1 year only;
6. AFL dominated demographics.

PLUS average crowds, when in the NRL, of around 7,000 per game!

CC Bears:
1. World class stadium;
2. Connection to 1908 establsihment club;
3. Brings CC and Norths shore back to rugby league;
4. Huge junior base from both areas;
5. Funding for long term (not just 1 year!)
6. Huge crowd support at Gosford and at away games.
7. genuine threat from soccer with A team in gosford.

The GC bid is not even close.

But, what is very suspicious is this huge NRL and News limited push for the Gold Coast whilst not even referring to the far superior bid.

For the Bears, the superleague war continues. But this fraud must stop!

Hey! Leave him alone!

Not all of us are middle aged, slightly balding and still live with their mothers you know. If his mummy knew he was on her computer right now, she would be very angry...

doctor death - I'd LOVE to see a Central Coast team.

But - I'd PREFER to see a team on the Gold Coast FIRST.

It'd be best for a Sydney team to relocate to the Central Coast --> that'd clear some of the "congestion" in the Sydney market, and give the CC a team. Of course, the Northern Eagles debacle was never really a move to the CC, so that shouldn't be used as a test case for why teams shouldn't move there.... get a team that will move there, be located there, and play all their home games there! But not before we get the Dolphins happening!

BTW - I think your "facts" about the Gold Coast are a bit fraudulent...
1. No name - well that's a bit ridiculous - they just decided to drop the proposed name in favour of letting the people decide upon a new one (and to avoid a bunfight with a nearby team...)

2. No stadium - this, and point 4 are pretty much exactly the same :roll: And they are not big issues - there ARE potential sites for development, they are just waiting for an acceptance before comitting the money to build.

3. Need $50 million! - not sure if that's exactly true - again they have backers who will support them once accepted.

4. No decison on a location for a potential stadium! - see point 2 :roll:

5. Enough money for 1 year only - see point 3 :roll:

6. AFL dominated demographics - not true! The AFL have a part time (3 days per week) development officer in the area - and (having met and spoken with him), the reason he is not full time is because AFL is not a big sport up there right now. (of course, if league doesn't tap into the many junior leagues and fan bases soon, then who knows...)

So basically you make 3 points which are half truths... nice way to show an inferior bid :roll:

1. Gee a name is going to stop a club plaing football, Rugby League was played by clubs without nicknames for years, they will have one before they enter the comp
2. Carrara - I seem to remember that your stadium is one of the major reasons why you arent in the comp anymore
3. The money will come
4. Awaiting a decision, decisions are made and result in outcomes
5. More money then most NRL clubs
6. AFL dominated my arse, when was the last time you lived on the Gold Coast d*&khead? We need a team here to stop any threat of AFL domination

Population has doubled since last NRL team, averaging well over 15,000 for trials held here...

All the bears have is a stadium, a smaller junior base then GC, A smaller city, cant fill stadiums for Rep games or NRL games held there, Soccer is no threat, your club can live in the past of its 1908 heritage and empty trophy cabinet. GC will be here to stay!

Dr do you actually live on the CC? Will you attend any games? Unlike many of the GC backers on this forum who will actively support a local team?

It's frightening how low on fact and reason these GC idiots are.

GC have had a number of attempts - all rank failures. your bid is nothing but empty promises (money will come - government should fund it - crowds will come). there is no substance behind the bid.

Junior base? CC Bears will have CC and north shore juniors. the stadium was filled for the "no interest" City v Country game. the CC bid has long term funding.

Yes, tremendous crowd support for GC! ?! If the support for the GC is represented by idiots like you, you'll get lost on the way to the ground.

You've got nothing - like your bid!

Answer the Question Dr, are you a central coast resident and will you turn up to games?

the stadium was filled for the "no interest" City v Country game

No it wasnt, i saw plenty of seats on the telly, no interest in a rep game? Hate to see what your interest would be in a club game

The Gold Coast bid is extremely strong coming from a professional prospective, i have faith in the people behind the bid and the crew at ISA that the GC will finally become entrenched in the NRL and once again become a great rugby league heartland

Gold Coast Bid is absolute crap - a cheap card table will stand up longer than their stability - look forward to seeing 4,000 people like at the old gold coast.

Anymoney they'll make the Gold Coast First 2 Games at Home against Broncos and Cowboys - they only way they will draw a crowd about 10,000 all season.

Central Coast rips to shreads any plan for a new club - the NRL are just ignorant and want to use Express Advocae as a novelty stadium.

That's actually incorrect.

The 2004 City v Country match attracted a crowd of 15,310. The stadium capacity is 20,119.

Cheers.

Dr. Death doesn't let facts get in his way of making up his 'own' version of events.

That would be stupid, you wouldnt make a local derby the first game when you are going to sell it out

I wouldnt go around mouthing off about massive crowds if i was a souths fan.... Empty stadiums are your specialty, Telstra is going to be electric when you head out there. Maybe your club should have made to move up the F3

Or played on the F3 median strip.

I think souths are better off playing at Kambah District 2 ovals in southern Canberra. Souths supporters are the biggest bandwagoners in the league besides roosters "fans"

But the CC bid is much more solid. They already havea stadium, for starters.
Although, for development purposes, the GC bid would be a better option. I don't see the crowds on the GC being nearly as big as at the CC.

A more solid bid based on a stadium? Bears fans have a field of dreams mentality, build it and they will come, its all about the stadium isnt it

Crowds on the GC are consitently bigger then the GC and there hasnt been a premiership game for years on the GC, just trials

Even when there were premiership games, there were no crowds. The bears havea financial backer. The GC has made "Requests" which have yet to be fulfilled. So far, financially, the CC bid is far more solid.

Having a FG quality stadium is extremely important to a bid. The NRL has already explained the need for Carrera stadium to be substantially upgraded.

1. No name; (you mean no nickname)
2. No stadium; (gov't waiting for a commitment from the NRL)
3. Need $50 million! (for what? the ground? see point 2)
4. No decison on a location for a potential stadium! (again, let's get the commitment first before we go wasting the taxpayers' money on a white elephant)
5. Enough money for 1 year only; (where do you get this shit from?)
6. AFL dominated demographics (wrong, the NRL trials outdraw the AFL trials each year, the GC is a strong league area in danger of being taken by the AFL if the NRL don't expand there soon)

PLUS average crowds, when in the NRL, of around 7,000 per game! (don't let the facts get in the way of a good story. don't list the trial attendances over the past several years)

CC Bears:
1. World class stadium;
2. Connection to 1908 establsihment club;
3. Brings CC and Norths shore back to rugby league;
4. Huge junior base from both areas; (you must have "forgotten" to mention the huge junior base on the GC)
5. Funding for long term (not just 1 year!) (just like the GC)
6. Huge crowd support at Gosford and at away games. (based on what? 15,000 for a rep game? or shitty crowds when they had an NRL team there?)
7. genuine threat from soccer with A team in gosford (much like the genuine threat from AFL on the GC I guess)

The GC bid is not even close.

That the trouble with one-eyed views, you only get a slanted view of the "facts" that suits the author.

I support both bids and I'd like to see the Bears back in the NRL. But IMHO, the GC is more important at the moment for the expansion of the code. DD and Co just have to get over this Sydney/NSW-centric fixation of theirs for the good of the game.
