The future of Grant

That's my point, why persist with some one like Moltzen who is an embarrassment at times, when there are others who have ability but have never been given an opportunity,Everingham made it at Souths, yet could not get a look in at the WT is an example.

Why do people always think wingers make good fullbacks?

Because the skill set a good winger has is the closest skill set to make a good fullback. Having pace, returning the ball straight and hard, having good leaping and catching skills, being able to back up well and finish off chances are all skills that translate well to fullback play. It doesn't matter how good your ball playing skills are, if you can't get the basics right, you'll never be a good fullback, which is the problem with Moltzen.

Hey there Hutch,
I spruiked Grant as a winger. Then said he'd make a pretty handy fullback too.

As was later said, the qualities of a winger and fullback are very similar.

Jump on you tube and have a look at what this kid is doing.
Yes it's only union.
Yes it's only club level.
Yes the NRL is the real world.
BUT . . . . look at what he is actually doing and tell me how many times you would have to multiply Lote x Moltzen to reach the same result.
If defensive reads are his problem, then teach him to read defense.
Every single other aspect of this kid is amazingly positive.
He would make Everingham look like a joke, IMHO.

Defensive issues, did anyone she Marshall last night?I am starting to think that this guy is a protected species, two appalling efforts in defence led to try's.

Well said Fordy and Roscoe. You could also look at it this way- Put all Utai, Moltzen and Lote or Even the x Beu Ryan in the same teams as Grant has played for- club rugby,Aus sevens and State Cup as a comparison and i doubt that could produce a highlights package that would come anywhere near was Grant has shown .
