well, the Minor Premiership is the most important trophy in the NRL. Being the best team through 26 gruelling weeks is a lot more impressive than getting lucky in a one off game in October.

The JJ Giltinan Shield belongs to the NSWRL and strictly speaking should be awarded to the NSW Cup grand final winners. Not entirely sure how the NRL got their mitts on it.

Isnt the NRL an evolution of the nswrl premiership though

The NRL need to raise the prize money for minor premiers and also the actual premiers while they're at it. 100k for the minor premiership is chump change these days.

$500,000 for the Minor Premiership
$1,000,000 for the Premiers

Giltinan shield could be for the winner id that.

I'd love the Shield to stay as is now. In superleague they call it the League Leaders Shield. Maybe that could work here. Minor premiers could be called League Leaders and get the Giltinan shield.

The JJ Giltinan Shield still has the 2006 and 2007 years on it ( those circle things on and around the shield ) On it is engraved "WITHDRAWN"

Would be 06 07 and 08.

And that's probably the best way to do it then remove the years altogether.
