these good players like minichello , buderus , covell , gower are good but they played all year and couldnt take there sides to the premiership or in some cases (accept lukes) the semis.

You can't claim Minichello is better due to his performance in rep games when Hodgson never got the chance to represent. If you are going to do comparison, compare over the full season and you'll see Hodgson is at the least, fit to do up Minichello's "golden boot-laces".
