No, it aint a biblical thread, sorry!

I am so over all this negativity involved with our club, our coach, the Sharks continually getting bagged.

People, please post any shred of happiness about our club here! I need to hear some good news for a change.

I am off to drown my sorrows now...................

Granted we are extension but still.

I saw year 12's from my school (St Pats) and nearly every other school in the shire cruising around today and they seemed all quite laid back. I have a few days off cos my exam block is still on but I have done all my exams already.

I sure it will get harder as it gets along, but nothing to worry about if you've studied hard.

I've chosen Advanced English for year 11 04, and I am in the top English class this year. Is it a hard course?

Stop it people. This is supposed to be a Good News thread and here you all are talking about your HSC exams. You're making me feel like an old fart! Only joking, best of luck to you all with your exams.

If it's any consolation, I know plenty of people who scored >450 (do you still get a score out of 500?) and who are now unemployed, struggling, divorced etc; and more than a few who performed dismally in their HSC and who are now multi-millionaires. It's a stepping stone, a big one admittedly, but it's not the end of the world if you don't do as well as you (or your parents) expect.

Just enjoy life and take the time to think about what you really want to do with it. It's often easy to just go along with career choices that our parents make for us and, believe me, there are few things worse in life than being stuck in a job that you can't stand for 20 or so years. And, of course, keep barracking for the Sharks as we will get there and win the big one one day.

Did u get to choose wat english you were going to do, geez lucky you, we were just put into adv or standard.

Area of study isnt hard but about the adv english modules well, i wouldnt say its a hard course you definately have to work hard though but it also depends on what modules you do.

Im not sure bout the area of study for you lot. Class off 2003 were the last class to do 'change', next years class will be doing 'journey' but that shouldnt be too hard

Yeah we can choose. If we wanted and our marks are good enough, we could also do an extension unit of advanced english. A and B's for advanced english, high C's are considered. A's and B's for extension english, and from C downwards people can do English fundamentals.

I got an A so I chose advanced, I believe marks get scaled down for the lower types.

I chose extension 1 for English. I was gonna do extension 2 (i.e 4 unit), but my school doesn't carry it as a subject because no-one would do it :p

Thought about doing 3 unit maths...but blew that off when I read the course outline...doin 2 unit now.

What other subjects are you doing next year Salmon? I'm doing Chem, PD/H/PE, Drama and IPT. Four of my elected subjects didn't get the numbers...hence drama :D

Only a handful of students chose Ext 1 english at my school!

I chose:
- Ext 1 math (3 unit)
- Economics (2 unit)
- Business studies (2 unit)
- Legal studies (2 unit)
- Modern history (2 unit)
- Advanced english (2 unit)
- Studies of religion (1 unit) - UAI

I chose math ext 1 with every intension of dropping the ext unit after the first 6 months, first year maybe. I am good at science but I dropped it b/c I find it too hard to study for. I am good a commerce and I want to do it as a career. I am good at history and its what I do to relax, when I am not doing anything else. I also like military history and I want to join the army as a lawyer, or become a lawyer and be in the army reserve. At my school, 1 unit of religion is cumpolsury and you have the choice of a non-UAI or UAI type (non-UAI is Catholic studies). I chose the UAI one as I trhought if is easy marks in the HSc, and if I am forced to do it, I may aswell make it count. I would love to do an ext unit of modern history.

Good Luck to all of the troops undergoing their exams. A great topic indeed. I remember the hallucian days of the old school yard. It sounds like our subjects were a fair bit different as well. I undertook the following subjects......

English: (Pretty easy!)

Maths in Society: (Otherwise known as Spac Maths. This is where you learn about statistics ie: horse racing. We went on an excursion to the race track to learn about stastics!! LOL)

Multistrand Science: (This is where you learn how to make paper planes. If your plane fell straight to the ground you failed, if it went skywards, you passed.)

Modern History: ( Time to perve on the Teacher, she was gorgeous!)

Health & PE: (Time to perve on the girls in their sports uniforms.)

Manual Arts: (We were the lucky year because we got to build the new scoreboard for the football team!!)

Now I know why I enjoyed School so much. Its good to write these things down. Ah the memories........
