The grand plan for Rugby league that will take the game into the stratosphere:

As the NRL looks to a 20 team competition.
They are also looking at buying into Super league and wish to control it, with a look to make it a 10 team comp( 2 French) Europe NRL ( details in the SL thread)

Well we are getting rather particular about a certain number of clubs.. Here's why.

3 Conferences of 10:

10 NSW team Conference

10 team outside NSW Conference

10 team European Conference

Same grant and salary cap accross each Conference, note that SL in now live every game on fox now.

Each team within each Conference plays each other twice .
Top 3 of each Conference progress to the finals with 1 Wild card .
10 team finals series.

It all adds up.

James Graham proposed this last year.

It just shows how myopic Sydney fans are and how little thought they put into such a suggestion.

no it doesn’t … it’s the opinion of one person in this zoo about something that will never happen in the next 50 years and likely will never happen

An all NSW conference is one of the most inane, poorly though out ideas that LU has ever come up with.

It just shows how myopic Sydney fans are and how little thought they put into such a suggestion.
Imagine the outcry from the NSW conference when they lose the travel advantage to the Empire.

NRL are looking at 20 teams by 2032 and SL ownership by 2028.
2035 would be realistic.
Pommies won’t give up administrative control to the arl

Nor will they allow clubs like Wakey and cas too be booted and toulose allowed in

It was interesting the press release mentioned super league as a gateway to Northern America

Perhaps the nrl could be looking at reviving the Wolfpack

he thinks the NRl could spend $200mill a year on grants to NRLE clubs when the current tv revenue is $45mill for the whole game there. Im not sure he has really thought it through lol

Has to be a tv deal worth 21 million pounds pa to fund a 10 team league plus champ

Funnily enough you guys made the cut

And were one of five super league clubs who don’t want Catalans kicked out

Does the NRL actually propose to pay anything for the 33 per cent of the ESL? I would like to see these tight arse NRL clubs agree to that

Yes but they plan on giving it back at cost to the English clubs once it’s turned around

So apparently the nrl will receive no payoff financially

I’m not talking about their long term motives ..

How much are they offering to pay to acquire a 33 per cent share ?

Under this structure, ALL revenue total would be spent evenly across all 30 clubs. That means Hull would have the same grant and cap as the rest of the league.

It would be one league with one governing body that receives all income and distributed evenly across the league.

Just think of the current SL has 10 clubs with a 17 million dollar grant, 12 million dollars to spend on talent . They'd be among the 30 richest and most talented league.
By far the biggest RUGBY comp in the world.

What do you think their Television deal in the UK is then?
