Seems to me from perusing these scribblings that more and more people are coming to the conclusion, FINALLY, that Nobby/Dykes simply doesn't work.

Dykes will be shown the door not Noddy and Raper will say it is 'fixed'. Do you really want it 'fixed' if it means Dykes is dropped? I can see Raper going to his 1st plan before Vagana got hurt and putting Nige in the 6 and bringing Scott into the centres till Bails gets back.

I'd rather have Dykes move into the impact hooking role we have lacked since Latu left if the halves are going to be changed. He has to be in the 17 and Kimmorley won't be anything but the 7.

Kimmorley on the backburner... I think he needs a new coach to revitalize him, and this coach, whoever he may be, isn't at the Sharks.

Can't see this happening tho... Roper and BK seem close

What should be done?
Well, selections must NOT be made on 6 years ago and say Kimmorely must play because he won blah, blah and represented blah blah.
Selections must be based on CURRENT form.
Dykes and Kearney turned our losing season around to a winning one when Kimmorely was out.

There's your halves. Dykes to half. Kearney does his thing from 5/8.

To be honest, I'd don't care. Player loyalty is a fine thing but in the end it's about the team. They need to be split up or grossly amended in what they do one way or the other.

He can go back to the Vagana/Nobby plan but that will fail as well. Vags can't pass and can't kick so the backs will be even more possesion starved and the team even less offensively potent. Nobby will just use Vags as the 7th forward like he did in the other 2 capers they had together.

How about just swapping Nobby and Addo? For the full 80 minutes. No swapping. Force Noddy deep by playing next to Dykes and watch his kicking and passing improve. Let Dykes run the forward charges and get them going up and through again.

How about Kearney 7/Nobby 6. Could work like Broncos 7/Lockyer 6.

Just get Noddy the f**k out of the ruck and the traffic.

The problem with that Since73 is Nobby runs the Sharks club and thinks he's invincible. Won't take being dropped lying down, he's the marque player and knows that the club will not have the balls to drop him so therefor Dykes will pay the price of our non-performing and overrated captain and halfback.
I said at the beginning of the season Nobby wouldn't be in the starting team by the end of the season. On current form he shouldn't be there.

I would play him at hooker with 3 instructions

quality passing from dummy half
encourage running from dummy half
no kicking from dummy half

The biggest diappointment for me has been his running game or lack of. He used to be so dangerous with the football. Give him those simple instructions and see how he goes.

There is the risk that he will throw a number of forward passes, and if he does then I think drop him. I still feel though that in the right position, away from the attacking zone he could be very useful.

fizman, for the same reason I think there's a case to have him in the 6. NOT switching with Dykes but for 80 minutes. Buy the f**ker some time.

In a perfect world Noddy to hooker Dykes to half and Kearney to 5/8.

But realistically it would never happen. Im like Frenzy I don't want to see Dykes dropped or relegated to the bench but if it would benefit the team I find it hard to see any objection with it.

That said, It won't stop the sh*t grubber kicks and it won't stop the forwards getting smashed into next week. Jesus there were some horrendous hospital passes last night. I'm still wishing someone would throw one to Noddy so he can feel the pain he's dished out others for so long.

Its deplorable and every team has figured out to target him. The Melbourne game they sniffed him out ALL night.

Kimmorley is a liability too , they both missed 4 tackles and made around 18. Dykes has more to give in attack so he would be the likely choice to stay.

Don't forget it was Kimmorley that stupidly ran out of the line to gift Melbourne their second try.

Some of you sh*t me to tears sometimes, if you don't like him thats fine.

He plays with passion and really puts in, busts his arse tackling all game, and is a pretty damn good example of a responsible professional player.

He maybe past his prime but the need to say I hate him and refer to him as nobby are way over the top.
