Oh pull ya head in mate, it was a cheeky tongue in cheek comment. Its grumpy old turds like you that get so uppity over slight of hand comments and then get up the guy making it that make forums tense.

ibid.

It was a tongue in cheek comment. It wasn't meant to cause offence, nor was meant to trigger the inevitable "Well if you don't like what I post then sod off" response.

Woodgers, if you think my post was totally out of order then have a flick through the last couple of months comments on this site. Maybe, just maybe, faced with that level of repetition, you could allow yourself a little wry smile?

I have not jumped on the Henry bandwagon (if there is such a thing) and I certainly wont be calling for his head early in 2007.

What I wont to see is the talent at our club utilised irrespective of age and reputation. Imo Elliott has suffered from this attitude which I think has resulted in club taking far too long to get back up the top of the ladder.

My understanding is that Henry will rectify this deficiency, he himself has stated that is his intention.

If I have been led astray than Henry will receive as much criticism from me as did Elliott.

It's hard to tell exactly where the Raiders are headed next year. I'll be happy so long as Henry completes his main objective, bringing the juniors through the system. Win or lose, if we're seeing good progress in Carney, Weyman, TLL, Zillman, Dobson, et all, than it'll be worth the growing pains.

I have a tinkering feeling that if Dunnenman walks into first grade and stinks up the joint like expected, than their may be alot of hostility towards our new coach.

It will be more than that coming from this laptop

Dunneman was signed on the recommendation of David Furner...
Any idea what kind of money/role he'll be playing at the club?

To me this is a Jason Smith-lite approach, we're still trying to baby Carney and Zilly until they rack up 200 games off the bench.

i know exactly what type of role he is to play

the neville whom will probably always feature in the FG team role :x
God i hope Henry actually backs the kids and doesnt pick this bloke, if im wrong ill happily cop the treatment but Dunemann is one of the worst signings canberra has ever made (to the best of my recollection)

and what can they expect if it proves a master stroke?

I trust the judgement of the people doing the hiring...

Im over it, how much better would these discussion boards be if Raiders didnt have a coach. The place would only have 3 threads.

Doesnt anyone find it odd that you have to go to another teams section or the NRL section to see something positive spoken about this team?

i do find it odd actually, that so many league nuts can be completely clueless when it comes to the raiders :)

Salford were relegation favourites this year, they are now a top 6 side and the only real change is the addition of Dunnemann to their squad. He has been in superb form, showing great leadership and his halfback (only 22 years old) has really come of age with Dunnemann outside him. I know there's a gap between NRL and ESL but he's a different player to when he left, much more mature and a fantastic player to have around with all the bright young talents you have in the halves. He had a great year in 2005 at hooker so he provides another option there aswell for you.

Give the poor bloke a chance though.

I couldnt care less if he was the Uncle to Tobby Oats ... the fact is we are pretty well covered in this area and I would hate to see the FG hopes of a player such as Zillman disappointed, thereby leaving the gate open for the Roosters to grab a disgruntled player from beneath our noses.

They're all 19/20, taking two halves that young into a team that is also young is a very risky thing to do. Worst case scenario is Dunnemann flops at 6 and moves to hooker or premier league, you're not much worse off for giving it a go. He wanted to come back to Australia for family reasons anyway so he wouldn't be on much money and even if he was in reserve grade he'd still have alot of advice for your young halves.

If it makes you feel better, look at who we're going to have at five-eighth next year. I'd gladly swap him for Dunnemann.

Thanks for the advice but the last thing we need is some dude from parra telling us how to run our team.

Mate, I coulndt care less if Zillman was still having his nappy changed 5 times a day by his mumma ... he could be up for his senior citizens card next year as well .... the fact is I dont want some club such as Parra coming along and picking up a disgruntled Raiders youngster who has been languishing in PL.

I'm willing to wait for him to get all the FG experience he requires ... PLAYING FG .... FOR THE RAIDERS !!!

Do you ever imagine someone from the club reading this page and saying `thanks for the advice, but the last thing we need is some ignorant know-nothing telling us how to run our team?`

I simply don't understand how the Raiders overlooked Bay's talents when selecting a new coach. Unless....and i know this is ridiculous......unless there was someone more talented out there than he.

After reading all this I'll say it again - poor old Neil Henry, he just can't win can he... and a ball hasn't been kicked in anger yet!

It has begun already: Dunemann you are the 07 Pinyata (dunno the spelling).

Henry: you will be the guy who hung up the pinyata so FGS don't select him or we will get another 100000000000 posts about why Dobson/Zillman/Carney/Herbert should be in FG at NRL level running the show and setting the world on fire.

Just so Bay and r69 can be happy. ;-)

esentially you've just had a whinge about the same thing woodgers was saying...

 Exactly right. My point is that while you say some people come in here and say the same thing over and over, you are doing the same on the other side. While people on here continually say 'Sack Elliott' or 'Pick Zillman/Chalk/Thurling/Num Num.....you guys are coming back with 'All you continually do is say this' or 'He knows what he is doing'. It is the exact same thing, you guys argue that it is repetitive while being repetitive!

I just saw the post above this one, that is a fine exhibit of what I am saying

Just drop it and focus on the weekend boys

You realise there's an issue of reactivity v proactivity here, don't you? No?

Never mind then. Please, carry on. Just go and re-read some of your posts for the last couple of months. Then, if you have the stomach for it, do the same with Bay's.

Now, in this thread, we have people firing warning shots at Henry...and he's not even bloody well at the club yet!!!!
