I have no argument with criticising Sth Africa's losing culture, or just white Sth Africa in general...

But Kallis' record is quite the reverse if you care to actually look at what he's done

I can't recall Kallis ever winning a Test series against Australia or any other match of significance. Losing the warm up games is usually the best way to prepare to lose the important games.

But how much of that has been against Zimbabwe and Bangladesh?

38 wickets and just under 1000 runs in 12 tests - he's score 1100+ against AUst and taken 35 Aust wickets in 18 tests

And for the record his average in Aust is a tick under 50, very comparable to Ponting's average outside Aust

He's had a poor year batting though, so this series will be interesting

The thing is how long he takes to score those runs.. To win Test cricket matches these days against quality opposition, you have to score at a decent pace to give your bowlers time to take 20 wickets.. The Australians do that, the Indians do that too, Kallis and most of the other South African batsmen don't. That is okay against most Test teams but won't cut it against the best.

im quite shocked to see Kallis only averages 29.30 in England after 12 tests

but more than makes up for it with a 503.00 average in Zimbabwe
