The Kangaroo Tour

With alot of the top players pulling out of the Kangaroo Tour, does anyone have any real concern about it. To me Rugby League is a bit like Cricket as far as our national team goes in that Australia could field a second or even a third rung team on the world stage and still do well.

What's everyone else think?

I don't have a problem with it. I hate the thought of players playing with injuries. Best to get it sorted out in the off season.

IMO having some of our best players unavailable is no worse than sending our best team to flog the poor English.

England gave us a good scare last time we toured.

I think they will beat us this time if we are at all complacent, and I think we are complacent.

David Waite has been working for years towards this moment, and he has some surprizes for us.

I actually think it is a good thing for RL for us to get knocked off, and it will be extra good for League if the English Union side fall flat on their faces in the WC.

I'm the same. I'm all for Australia being beaten, because in the long run it's good for the international game. I envy the Yawnion fans' their World Cup, where there are twenty sides, and most can compete on some level. The last World Cup was great in terms of seeing sixteen nations go around, but a dud in that Australia were first with England, Wales, and New Zealand a distant second.

England win- boosts their confidence- gets some spite between the two sides- and makes for better tests later.

Yes, The Aussie side is serverely depleted for the Tour this autumn, this will give us a decent chance of winning the series which we havent won for years! But i still sense, the guys that come in to cover the injured big name players like Joey, Tallis etc, will still be just as good, afterall, the younger the team, the more hunger there is to win!
I dont think anyone should write off Australia, even if they are depleted!!
I cant stress how important it is for us to win this series, it will follow up our schoolboys sensational series victories over Australia last year!!
We need to be competing with the top nations for the chance to be called 'World Champions' we have struggled over the last 10 years or so to even get close, now is the best time to do it, and do it in style 3-0!!

If Great Britain had their top side I'd say they'd win but with Sculthorpe out injured, and Cunningham no longer on drugs they will struggle especially with Walker & Bailey in jail (and maybe Pryce depending on the result/length of his trial). They just don't have the depth to loose class players like Sculthorpe.

Don't know if there are other injuries or not.
