It looks like these games won't be free to air, only Fox and Kayo is that correct ?
If so that sucks. Not a smart move, promotion wise.

Maybe tomorrow might be bigger, but I'm not sure it's going to get much traction outside of the 15 people in the crowd.

I reckon RL 9's would actually have more of a chance in USA of taking off. Its less physically demanding and probably suits the faster AF player positions better.

What sort of local engagement does the EPL do?

The 9's comp for me is what will get the traction not the game as such

The 9's tournament is where the scouts should be. Rather than a combine measuring a players speed and strength, a 9's game played in open spaces will show a players ability to attack and defend.

That is what I think gets the most traction locally and with officals

You expect day 1 it is going to have an effect?

The side that wins will go home do media, Those other teams attending the 9's and the NRL.
Sponsors will hear of that

I stand by my comment, the 9's is a far better way to measure a players potential than the combine. I never said it would be played in front of 90 thousand rampant fans, anyone familiar with League in America would know it was going to played in front of 2 blokes and a dog. Heck, even the professional Union comp rarely gets over 1k to a game or more than 20 viewers watching the live stream.

There were actually a few thousand there and if you follow Rugby League in America on social media you'll see the players and "15 people in the crowd" had an incredible day.
